INTRODUCTION
In today’s technological era there are many new technologies and software emerging. It has
allowed companies to use different types of services in offering services. Cloud computing is a
platform of providing on demand use of computer resources such as storing of data without the
management of user. By using it, users can easily access data and file through a device that is
connected to internet (Almorsy, Grundy and Müller, 2016). Companies like Google, Amazon,
etc. are using cloud computing to provide services to large number of users. Thus, it has become
easy to access it from anywhere, anytime.
This report will describe about different cloud service providers and their services. Also,
IAM services will be explained along with features of Amazon EC2 web service. Moreover, it
will be discussed about RDS and how it is connected with MySQL database using workbench.
Furthermore, AWS storage services will be explained in context of Retail4profit.
TASK 1
1. Different cloud service providers and their services
The use of cloud services has enabled in ease of offering services. In this people can use
computer resources to store and access data. It is a reliable platform that can be access by
anyone. Basically, there are three types of cloud computing services that is as follows :
SaaS- it is a service that is offered either for particular time period or for lifetime. The user can
easily access services directly from web browser. Here, overall software is provided to user for
use. For example- user can access and download e mail, application, etc. over internet. There are
some example of SaaS such as Microsoft office, Zoho, etc.
PaaS- this is a cloud service where user can create or develop application. It includes both
software and hardware infrastructure (Böse and Rockenbach, 2018). In this entire management
is done by third party. User can install and host data sets. Some examples are Oracle, SAP, etc.
IaaS- This cloud service allows users to use computer resources, networking and other devices
on demand. The user can use it on demand basis rather than purchasing it. Examples are :
Microsoft Azure, Amazon EC2, etc.
There are many companies that provide cloud computing services (Cloud service
providers, 2017). Therefore, Retail4Profit can also access those services to improve their
function.

Amazon- the company provide various services such as data storage, content delivery, etc. it is
flexible and reliable to work with it. However, customer has to pay once of what they have used.
It is highly used cloud services by companies.
Its services are:
Server configuration – it offers services of hosting server and deploying it. in this there are three
types of instance like computer, memory and storage.
Data storage – the cloud offer service of storing data and moving it into different server and data
all around the world in form of buckets (Botta, De Donato and Pescapé, 2016).
Elastic load balancing – ELB enable client to use appropriate server and hotspot. In this there are
two types that is classic and application.
Azure- this service is offered by Microsoft for testing, deploying and managing application. it is
a public cloud service that can be used by any user. The Azure uses virtualisation which
differentiate between OS and CPU. The IT expert cane deploy and manage their service easily.
Its services are :
AI and machine learning – it allow data scientists to prepare data and experiment by deploying
models in cloud. Moreover, user can learn AI and use visual studio tool.
Azure SQL- the platform also allow user to develop database and deploy it. besides that, it
allows in connecting data with AI and protect it. also, by integrating Microsoft and SQL database
analytics can be done.
Cognitive services – by using it algorithms, mapping, etc. can be done to solve complex business
problems.
IBM cloud services- it is both IaaS and PaaS cloud services. by using this it is easy to access
resources like networking, storage, etc. the main feature is its speed and agility. IBM cloud do
not contain many barriers. The services are also used by retailer, supplier at low price.
2. Evaluate IAM services and create 2 groups, 2 users
IAM is identity and access management services that provide tools and technologies to
change user role, track activities, etc. (Messerli, Voccio, and Hincher, 2017) They are designed
in such a way that user can access in enterprise by compliance with policies and regulations.
There are different tools which is as follows :
CIAM- customer identity and access management allow in authenticating user and integrating
with CRM, ERP and other systems.

IA- identity analytics allow in identifying and preventing risky behaviour by using machine
learning algo and others.
IDaaS- it is a software that offer SSO from portal to web application.
IMG- this govern identity life cycle in iterative way. this makes it easy to compliance with
privacy regulation.

3. Evaluate features of Amazon EC2 web services features
Amazon EC2 is a public cloud computing platform which consists of several features.
They are described as:
GPU compute instances – It provide services of next generation GPU. Here, 8 nvidia V100
tensor core GPU. This allows to interconnect GPU to GPU communication at high speed and low
latency. Hence, it is suited for machine learning, high performance computing, etc.
High I\O instance – users require high and low latency I\O devices to access data. so, Amazon
EC2 provide I\O devices I3 and I3 en that are backed by non volatile memory express. This
enable in running high performance database, transaction systems, etc. furthermore, the I\O
devices offer storage space up to 16 GB (Rittinghouse and Ransome, 2017).
Dense HDD storage – this is another feature of amazon EC2 in which distribute computing like
log and data processing benefit from dense storage instance. With help of it, customer can store
up to 48 TB of data in 24 hard disk drive.
Optimized CPU configuration – it enables user to specify number of CPU’s when launching
new instance so that CPU’s cost is saved. Along with it, multi threading work load can be
disabled to perform well in single threaded CPU’s.
Flexible storage option – in this feature work load is installed in many instances like Amazon
EBS, EFS, etc. so, it provides simple and persistent cloud storage for sharing access. The file
interface is a standard file access system with semantics.
Paying for what to use – This is the main feature of Amazon EC2 in which user have to pay for
what they are using. For example- 20 instance are been used initially and cost is .05 per hour
then user will be charged for per hour.

Multiple location – the cloud service provides services in multiple locations. Thus, it provides
low cost and latency network connectivity in other availability zone in similar region. In
addition, applications can be protected from single location easily.
Elastic IP address- in this feature it allows user to mask instance by remapping IP address in
their account. Hence, they do not have to configure host or DS to propagate customers. therefore,
IP mapping can be easily done by user at their side (Stergiou, Psannis and Gupta, 2018).
How to launch Amazon EC2 instance
In order to launch it there are certain steps that has to be followed which are defined :

Step 1 – sign in to Aws management console
Open Amazon EC2 console by selecting EC2 under compute

Step 2 – from dashboard open launch instance
Step 3- Now, chose Amazon page that display different configuration known as Amazon
machine image. Then, select the HVM edition of Amazon linux AMI.
Step 4- from the instance type, select t.2 micro as hardware and then click on review and launch.
Step 5- in review launch page, under security group chose boot volume, then next, and at last
click on launch.
Step 6- select existing key pair or create new one. click on acknowledge agreement box and
chose launch instance.
Step 7- chose view instance to check status of your instance and return to console.

The database service is manager SQL provided by AWS. It supports array of database
engine to store and organise dat. It helps in managing database and various other tasks such as
recovery, back up, etc.

database for use in different applications. Many administrations processes such as patching the

Amazon S3 (Simple Storage Service):

analytics and directly archived data (Bennett and Robertson, 2019). It also makes use of another
AWS services like CloudFront, which automatically move data in and out. In this way, it will
generate better result or outcome.

company will be able to increase customer base and generate more profits. However, it will
allow them to use resources at low cost. also, I think that SaaS is maintenance cost is low so
Retail4Profitwill not have to incur high cost on it. here, third party will be responsible for
maintaining overall infrastructure.
Another feature of SaaS is its scalability and integration. this mean company will not
have to buy any software or server. so in order to increase quality of service, third party will do
it. thus it leads to integration. I also got to know that SaaS reduces time in offering services. this
is because software is pre installed and configure. so, customers can easily use server in cloud.
thus, it reduces time in accessing services.

2. Justify selected AWS cloud services for Retail4Profitand its impact on company performance
As stated above there are different AWS cloud services available that can be use by abc. by
using Amazon S3 the company can retrieve and store large data of customers. it will be easy in
accessing data on mobile or any other device. I conclude that use of AWS S3 will allow
customers to access data quickly anywhere, anytime. in this way, quick services can be provided
to more customers in less time. hence, it will reduce work load on company server
I interpreted that the AWS back up will be useful in backing up data automatically. So,
company will not have to again and again do back up of data. So, use of AWS back up will
increase efficiency of organisation as storing and backing up of data result in efficiency in
operation. Apart from it, monitoring of systems will be done in effective way. However, data
will be simplified and segregated easily as default instructions are set up.
I analysed that using Amazon S3 glacier will help in maintaining long term back up. it will
be useful in analysing data in effective way and moving data in and out. Moreover, data
accessing process will fasten leading to obtain better and efficient outcomes.
therefore, these cloud services will be useful in enhancing efficiency of business. this will
make process of delivering services easy and flexible. furthermore, large data can be stored and
backed up easily.
3. Recommendation for solution
There are certain recommendations which can be followed by Retail4Profitto improve their
solution. it is as follows
The company should update their IT infrastructure so that it is easy to install cloud
services. so, it will enable them to offer services in large area and to more customers.
Organisation must hire highly skilled and qualified employees so that they are able to
maintain IT system and software. besides that, they must be provided effective training to
manage overall cloud services.
Another recommendation that should be followed is forming of IT security and installing
anti virus software, firewalls, etc. thus, it will be useful in preventing privacy and security
of confidential data and info.

Retail4Profitshould also store data in their own server and take regular back up of it so
that data is not leaked. it will enable in restoring data if got deleted.
CONCLUSION
From report it is summarised that cloud computing is a new platform preferred by
companies to provide services to users. There are many companies that provide cloud services
like Amazon, Azure, Google, etc. Amazon services are server configuration, data storage, Elastic
load balancing, etc. and in Azure services are Azure SQL, cognitive services, etc. Moreover,
features of Amazon EC2 web services are high I\O instance, flexible storage option, paying for
what to use, multiple location and many more. IAM services are that provide tools and
technologies to change user role, track activities, etc. they are CIAM, IA, IDaaS. Also, a specific
procedure is followed to launch Amazon EC2 service. Moreover, Amazon web app services are
Amazon EC2, RDS, Cloud front, SQS.
