Introduction
Collin’s car park from Melbourne is planning to implement the new software for various parking
operations. Collin’s car parking has 20 car parking stations running already in Melbourne CBD. As
the number of cars and vehicles are increasing day by day so it is challenging nowadays to manage
these vehicles parking. To overcome these challenges an automated parking application is needed to
install in the Melbourne. The system will perform following operations that are creating tickets,
managing payments, accommodating tickets, security management, parking management, validating
tickets. The number of clients will increase after implementing this application for providing excellent
service.
The application will handle both regular customers and usual customers. The application is user-
friendly and is easily altered in future as per the customer and user requirements. The report consists
of the software lifecycle of the application development and implementation. Incorporated into the
report is the study of the effectiveness assets necessary the expansive achievability of the
responsibility and the recommended result in the opinion of the examination of the case study.

Problem definition and description
Car parking is the system under Collin’s council of the Melbourne responsible for managing the
parking’s lots in the Melbourne area and already has 20 parking lots. As the number of transportation
vehicles is increasing day by day Collin's Parking has decided to develop the application software for
the excellent service. They are developing the system that is operative and proficient. The system will
perform following operations that are creating tickets, managing payments, accommodating tickets,
security management, and gate controlling parking management, and validating tickets (AcqNotes,
2017).
System capability
The user of this parking application is of two types one is regular and other is fixed customers. A
regular customer makes daily payments as per the rate card and the fixed customer makes the
payments weekly, monthly and yearly as per the rate card. The fixed customer has to make advance
payments whereas the regular or ordinary customer makes payment on the daily basis. The fixed
customer has the special area reserved for parking their vehicle.
Business effectiveness
According to the sort of customer, the ticket is generated.
A fixed ticket is generated for company and individual who are well- known and have long
time validity that is for weeks, months and even years.
A normal ticket is generated for a regular person having validity that is for a day or limited
hours.
The implementation of this system will decrease the human efforts.
The mistakes will get reduced after the implementation of this system.

There are various subsystems in the application Collin’s car parking that are;
Security management system
Payment gateway
Automated gates on entry and exit
Ticket generating application
Analysis of functionalities of the system
