INTRODUCTION
In the current environment, it is important for every student or individual to possess
academic and ICT skills. This will help them to achieve their career goals and objectives.
This report aims to understand the development of academic and ICT skills which is
necessary for each and every individual in order to increase their productivity (Ben Youssef,
Dahmani and Ragni, 2022). This report is specially designed for the students of health and
social care. It will also discuss a reflection that applied the help of a theory.
MAIN BODY
1.1 Learner introduction and summary of HSC aspiration goals and how development of
Academic and ICT skills will help this process
It is a project of health and social care students who want to achieve their career goals
which can be possible only when they focus on the development of skills. In the development
of skills, it is crucial to understand how academic and ICT skills are helpful for health and
social aspiration goals. Both academy and ICT skills are playing a very important role in the
career of every individual as it helps in improving employability as well as transferable skills.
It includes adaptability, effective communication, time management skills, critical thinking,
etc. These types of skills are really very important in each and every stage of life. In addition
to this, ICT skills are playing an important role as every day the use of technology in
organisations is increasing (Nwosu and et.al., 2018). It is identified that the use of technology
is not only increasing in organisations but also in each and every field. This is the main
reason that students should understand the application of ICT skills.

1.4 Reflections on development of skills
It is very important for every individual that they should develop some important
skills and knowledge (Lehner, 2018). I understand this with the help of my own experience in
which readers are able to understand how the development of skills are playing an important
role in individual life. My experience is presented with the use of Kolb's reflective learning
theory so that an individual is able to create knowledge by transforming past experiences.
Concrete experience: I found that it was a great experience for me when I was able
to access the classes of LEAP online. It was the platform from which I was able to learn some
academic as well as ICT skills. From the online portal, I was able to take classes so that I can
develop academic and information and communication skills. I did practice on a daily basis
on the assignments provided with the help of an online portal.
Reflective Observation of the New Experience: I identified that if I was not taking
classes online then I will not able to learn academic and ICT skills. In online classes, there
are many videos and assignments which I found to be important for the development of
necessary academic and ICT skills.
Abstract Conceptualization: From my experience, I learn that it is very important
for every individual to not judge anything only because of their name. It is difficult for many
individuals to learn skills with the help of using classes but it provides many advantages to
the individual so that they can develop necessary skills and information.
Active Experimentation: This is necessary to understand by an individual that the
development of skills is not possible without practical application. I analyse from my own

experience and that's why I used skills and my practical life as well. I found that transferable
skills are applicable in each type of organisation and this is the reason that I always focused
on active participation in such types of skills so that I will be able to develop skills.
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded from the above discussion that an individual needs to focus on the
development of necessary skills as it becomes crucial for the achievement of career goals and
objectives. It is identified that these are very helpful in order to increase the transferable and
employability skills.
