Challenges and barriers to effective communication With the Brexit occurred in UK, has brought about various challenges in the working conditions of the business in UK. Barriers caused by Brexit in the communication system in organization Mr. Fishy, as there are people of different cultural backgroundand age groups. They differ with each other in the social and psychological thinking, strategy brought by each individual has changed the working culture and created a chaos between the workers, this differences brought about a change in effective communication and creates a groupism between workers of Mr. Fishy. Some of the barriers to communication at Mr. Fishy are: Cultureandlanguagebarrier:DuetoemergenceofBrexittherewasasenseofa communication gap between British and non-British workers. This cultural gap brings about the change in the attitude between each other and a sense of superiority is seen between workers. Language barrier has brought about the change in the communication between workers which are a barrier to change. Differences in viewpoint:there is difference in the perception of the workers each of them wants to work for achieving thehighest position. With the different in culture there is a difference in beliefs and thinkings of one another. Mr. Fishy also wants their staff to perform best, but the change in attitude brought between the workers create a jealousy between the workers act as a barriers in achieving the business objectives which affects the performance of Mr. Fishy and affect the efficiency and firm. Strategies to overcome this Barrier: To overcome those barriers various strategies needs to be implemented by Mr. Fishy to overcome those challenges and helps the gaining profitability which are as follows: Mr. Fishy needs to develop a collaborative tasks which needs to be done to remove a communication barrier between the workers of the organization. As a communication tool various applications must be implemented so as to remove communication and cultural barrier and bring a sense of brotherhood. An open communication channel must be implemented into the work culture like change of teams by which everyone can communicate and connect with each other so as to eliminate barrier. Members of Mr. Fishy needs to be involved in the decision making process so as they can feel as a part of the organization. Their views and opinions must be considered. 1
Awareness of cultural influence on communication and negotiation: Mr. Fishy needs to make employees aware about the cultural difference and make them understand about the drawbacks to the organization, the sense of understanding and respecting must be shown between the workers through which they can create an awareness and respect towards each other which can help the firm with the productivity. As the people of UK are polite and kind towards each other and understands each others problems, they must interact with each other to build a healthy working atmosphere help each other with the work and create a healthy environment which encourages and supports each other. 2
