Effective Strategies for Overcoming Communication Barriers for Students Studying Abroad

The students require effective communication in
order to study effectively. The chosen country to teach
the students abroad is Australia. There are various
barriers that are being faced by the students are as
follows:
Academic practices: The students face the problem
of different communication and teaching styles being
seen in Australian University. They are unable to
understand the pattern of study and take time to learn
effectively (Deep, Salleh and Othman, 2019). It
causes problems for them to understand the topics
that are being taught in the classroom.
Barriers preventing students from studying abroad
Cultural barriers: The culture in
Australia and UK is different and this
causes problem for the students to
learn effectively. There are chances of
misunderstandings among the students
and teachers abroad. The way of
greeting is also different and the
students take time to get adjusted in
the culture. The daily routines of the
students get changed so that they are
able to manage their working in best
possible manner.
Lack of common experience: The students go
abroad for study purpose and have to face some
common problems (Hanafi and et.al., 2020). The
food, clothes etc. are different and this makes them
feel uncomfortable over there. They are unable to
speak and communicate the way they used to do in
their home country.
Time differences: They students need to
communicate and interact with the family members.
While studying abroad the students face the issue of
lack of communication that is problematic for them.
The time differences demotivate them as they are
unable to maintain the relations with friends and
family.
