2METHODS OF COMMUNICATION Communication and ICT Reflection. Thank you so much for the mazing reflection , just few points to addplease the one highlighted in blue is what I want to add , the yellow and red highlightones is to delete or change please . I only need 500 words only 20 % to go over, as long we covered with the important points. Many thanks The communication plays a major role in the way in sharing information. The way we communicate, we reflect the personality we own. The communication helps us to connect with people we interact or meet in our daily lives(Thompson,2011). The communication helps us in transferring ideas and information could help us binding connection with the people. Without communication, the health care organisationmight incur huge losses since there will be lack of unity among the organisation. The health care need to have an effective communicationtomaintainthegoodhealthofpeople.Thenon-verbalcommunication instruction are needed to be followed very carefully to avoid any error, any carelessness can cause complication in the patient’shealth. The health care organisation should have the proper update of all the medical history of the patientsand follow the requirement of diet and medication with respect to revised medication. There might be chances that there are barriers facedintheeffectivecommunicationwhichcanleadtohighrepercussions. The communication barrier created hazardous repercussions in the hospital. The hospital has more than hundred patients treated on the daily basis. The hospital has more than 50 wards that treat these patients on a daily basis. The incident took place in the stroke ward, where the ward patient has a routine diet that was provided by the hospital. The dietitian staff instructed the patient diet verbally directedthe heath care team with
3METHODS OF COMMUNICATION documenting in the patients record . Unfortunately, wrong diet has been served accidently which caused choking which resulted in the death of patient. Lack of proper management structure and poor documentation on patients care plan caused major consequences. This might me unintentional but it has led the whole organization in shock. The visitors and patients where hesitant to trust the employees with their health. The unintentional mistake of serving a wrong diet has defamed the name of the organization among people. Ideeply felt very sad and sorry for the loss. I just reported the incident to the supervisors of the organization this not only affected the employee but also was a great shock to patient’s family and friends. The hospital was falling apart because of the incident. The employees tried to justify their side for the incident and the case was being investigated, the report showed that the caretaker unintentionally gave the wrong diet to the patient since there was no documentation record to refer .Being a health care professional, I have taken few steps and implemented them in the hospital. In order to gain the faith of patients again with the hospital, we tried to be more interactive and attentive regarding the medical history of each patient. The cloud storage might help in creating space for extra data so that referring to the medical history be easier. The translator and interpreters need to be available all the time for the patients. The good communication can also be implied regarding children who need help in the organization. There was a proper management because of the documentation records, there are less case of causality and the prescriptions that needed to be followed by the caregivers was much easier. They had a blueprint to follow the instructions that are verbally instructed before. The translator and interpreters need enhanced a better communication between the patients and the doctors. The hospitals is showing improvements by installing digital technology and this has minimized the risk in the organization.
4METHODS OF COMMUNICATION As a Health care professional, I personally developed better approach of giving priority to the effective communication. I also learnt how to manage the data through technical exposure about the database of the hospital. The information systems that are used in order to record the diet charts and medication of the patients need to update according to the prescription. I learned that a basic communication is a vital part of any health care cases; a little carelessness can hamper life of the person. Adopting communication techniques like advocacy, signlanguage, and translator helped me to learn a lot about my own career and also helped me to grow my personal knowledge. It helped me to care about the sentiments of the patients encouraging them with words can help inbuilding a better environment within the hospital and treat everyone with respect( Robb,2004).
