INTRODUCTION
Community profile is a kind of data sheet which maintain the records of specific social
region for understanding its facts. Simply, it is done for accumulating baseline information of
community in order to understand health related issues of region. However, baseline facts are the
data which is gathered at the beginning of any event or intervention which can further utilized for
comparison purpose like; assessing the amount incurred changed (Siong and et.al., 2016).
Therefore, this assignment is also somehow covering the aspects of community assessment by
taking an example. Thus, Bettws community is going to highlighted in this project and outline
some health related factors for understanding the circumstances which is faced by people.
Furthermore, project will also throw some lights on various elements of community such as; key
issues, potential influence of climate change upon key issues and covered the actions which is
taken by community for controlling the influence of climate change on issues.
a) Identification of demographic health needs of community and critical analysis of data
Bettws is a very large advanced housing estate which is situated in Newport city and its a
place which is covered under area of almost 73.5 square miles and standing as a gateway
between England and Wales. It’s a very vibrant with multi-cultural city submerged in an ironic
industrialised legacy where old industries are sitting alongside with new electronics as well as
financial field. This community is also known as coterminous or parish of Newport, South
Wales. This housing estate was established in almost 1960s from which maximum houses are
identical in plan and name of the roads in estate was also named on the basis of rivers. In this
community, around 51.8% of housing is owned by private parties and nearly 42.6% is on rent
either from local housing firm or Newport city council (St David’s Church Report, 1997). At the
same time, this community is also known as second largest council estate over the Europe which
is transferred in 2009 to ownership of social housing in that maximum numbers of lands are
owned in the region of Newport city homes known as housing association. In almost 1964,
almost 1500 people were living in Bettws community in which around 12 families are moving in
a week. This shows that numerous members which were living there are rehoused from other
regions such as; Pilgwently and areas of Georges street town because at that places housing
situations were very much worst. There was one family who want to settle down in Bettws
community from George street but Mrs Clifford don’t want that but still it happens and they
became an active member in enhancing the community. As a result, she was involved in a

contract with local labour party and initiated a Bettws women’s section of labour party with one
of her friend. However, there are number of issues was present and need to handle it for
community growth. Some of the issues and problems of Bettws community are-
 Absence of doctors in surgeries.
 Absence of police station.
 Lack of professional members in the estate.
 Churches are handling all the activities such as; social work is accomplished by them;
parochial church has purchases a hut from merchant for organizing community activities
but during first season floor fell through.
 Pre-schools are organizing at church hall.
 Prices of products are very much high because temporary shops were too much
inadequate but still having a monopoly due to the absence of others.
 Mobile shops were also charged high cost.
This shows that health conditions of Bettws community was really too much worst from
past decades as none of the authorities are there whose are taking steps to improve the scenario.
Moreover, common people are also not interested in controlling the situations by taking steps
whereas just leaving the place for getting rid from entire health issues. According to the recent
article of Estel Farell-Roig which is posted in 2019 Newport is one of the most notorious estates
where there is a boundary of busy urban life (Estel Farell-Roig, 2019). Apart from this, place is
called as a “concrete jungle” by some people because houses are designed by concrete material.
David Taylor is a person who grew here with his alcoholic father and drugs are using around him
from a very young age due to which his childhood was really full of complexity and sad stories.
Therefore, it has been understood that Bettws is one of the poorest region where estate is
classified into six wards in which three of them are on top 9% rank from most underprivileged
regions across the nation. As per the Profile of Bettws Community Wellbeing from 2017, this
area is having importantly maximum working age advantages claimant rates. In fact, around 40%
of residents are having no qualifications in this estate which really shows a very negative
environment of city. David’s is having number of worst memories from past life such as; he is
remembering the scenario of being in a crack dens as a child, gone prison for almost four times
in his life as it’s a constant thing in his life due to various reasons and so on. In the age of 13,
David started using pills, taking drugs, robbing vehicles, people henceforth but still Bettws was a

not a bad place for his Dad. As a result, David has identified the anti-social behaviour as a most
significant problem around shopping centre. After happening all these problems and issues,
people don’t feel troubled in living there as well as enjoying the community by being loyal
towards it. Consequently, all the above data has shown that Bettws really need a high range of
health support and effective plans or policies for overcoming various community problems
which were incurred at this place. Additionally, data has proven that it’s a very mixed region
with full of multi-typed people whose are entirely different from each other various terms as
some love to do wrong activities but few want to live their life normally instead of complexity
just like David Taylor.
b) Critical discussion on 2 key issues using social determinants of health model
In the current scenario, it has been seen that our children is having dramatically different
life chances that relies on the environment in which they are living. The poorest people are
having a high level of illness as well as premature mortality. However, in most of the countries at
every level of income, health as well as illness that follows a social gradient. It could impact
their social connection as well as individual relationship. Moreover, social determine are
basically considered as wide factors that consists of income inequality that lead to impact the
health as well as development results (Hoffman and et.al., 2016). There are some common issues
that impact the health condition of Bettws community is mental problems that can cause
depression. Bettws community tends to experience unhealthy than other community, often dying
in the younger ages. It consists of mainly respiratory problems, mental health issues, and chronic
kidney diseases. However, they need to deal with various key issues that could create negative
impact on their day-to-day life. Such as
Waste incineration: It has been globally used concept that is related to the waste disposal
from the household, medical waste as well as hazardous, but it is increasing public concern
during the last couple of years. The Bettws community is getting more affected because of these
issues. This particular system tends to produce a large range of pollutants that are detrimental to
human health. This system has been more expensive as well as cannot reduce the toxic emissions
from the chemically complex MSW. The incineration is used to minimise the capacity of
municipal solid waste to overcome the potential infections among the Bettws community. As
they are involved in construction work so it is common phenomenon that solid waste as well as
dust arises can impact the health condition of lot of people living in the community. One of the

Anti-social behaviour: It happens to be another important issue that has been seen in case
of Bettws community. These are mainly related to an action that could harm or lack
consideration for the well-being of others. It has also been determine that any type of conduct
that violates the basic rights of another individual as well as behaviour is considered to be
disruptive in society. The impact of antisocial on health is related to the behaviour of people,
reckless driving that can constitute to self-evident health risks. Further, it is also determine that
the type of conduct that impact the primary right of another person as well as behaviour that is
related to the other society. It generally develops through social interaction within the
community. It is increasing continuously among the child’s temperament, cognitive ability and
their relation with negative people living in the bettws community. In the present scenario, it has
been seen that it has created lot of issues that can impact the living style of various group. Some
common issues are hypertension, depression, learning disability and many more. Thus, it is
important for the group to maintain social distancing from one another so that chances of spread
could be avoided. The social determinant models tend to provide specific guidelines regarding
the issues that are affecting the life of people (Fossati and et.al., 2013). They need to identify
their general social, cultural as well as environmental condition in the first stage. Further, it is
also important to maintain their living and working condition of the society in which they are
living. The issues can be also impact because of social and community transformation that would

c) Potential impact of climate change on 2 key issues
Climate change would have profound the implication on the overall distribution, ecology
of all species that are living in the community. There is latest as well as strong evidence that
could determine that most of the warming has been analyzed over the last 50 years is likely to be
attributable to human activities such as release of greenhouse gases from the fossil fuels. The UK
withdrawals from the EU which is referred as Brexit is an extraordinary event in UK history that

can follow to appeal to as a rule for Brexit which will impact globally. Over the last couple of
year the government as well as NHS has put considerable work into creating a no-deal brexit.
The department of health and social care has been available with a specific regulation for an

NHS as well as social care a sector tends to continues to develop for the positive culture

the entire population or between various communities. It goes against the concepts of social
justice, because they are avoidable. However, there is specific evidence that social factors that
consists of employment status, gender, ethnicity and education that have marked impact on how
healthy an individual is living during the current environment. There are multiple factors that

environment and many more. Disparities have been increased for unhealthy people with low-
income person that usually smoke at a higher rate. However, the maximum focus is given on the
communities that have more power as well as control during their decision making that has
affected their lives. The more likely it has positive implication on the service quality, social
economic situation, social empowerment as well as population health inequalities. It has been
seen that it has mostly seen in poor people health because they don’t even any specific measure
to deal with the issues that are going to impact their health as well as living condition. These
inequalities would primarily increase social and economic cost in both individual and community
(Marmot and et.al., 2012).
Mainly, the community need to deal with some key issues likes clean drinking water,
domestic violence, ethnic conflict, health disparities and lack of economical housing facilities. It
is important to determine valuable solution to resolve the health problems that are arises between
the communities. They need to identify the actual problem that has major consequences and
generate a reliable solution to deal with the issues. It is important to make use of prevent cure
measure so that major death or illness could be prevented in the society. Further, they need to get
proper education by the health educators to resolve the health related issues so that people can
get aware regarding the acute communicable diseases.
d) Action for reducing the influence of climate change on 2 key issues
It is an essential stage for the community to make use of accurate mitigation plan that
consists of reducing energy demand through increasing energy efficiency. In fact, it is important
to have proper knowledge regarding the major health related problems that has huge impact on
the growth and sustainability of the community. The waste incineration issues is required to be
analysed on regular basis because it is an issues that require valuable solution that required to be
coordinate at the global level (Braveman and Gottlieb, 2014). However, the Bettws community
need to work on a specific factor that would reduce the implication on the health of their group
members. The alternative methods is required to be follow so that harmful gases could not harm
or create any kind of lung or respiratory problems to the people. Apart from that, modern concept
of antisocial personality disorder could be traced back to avoid further implication. It will reduce
inclination that might have help in social security of the society. In the current scenario, the
biggest threat is related to the climate emergency that would lead to affect the environment.

However, there various so many measure that is required to be taken into account so that less
chances of mistakes or health accidents can be seen in the community. The sustainable
infrastructure is more reliable way to deal with the major challenges that are affecting the
climate. The changing UK political landscape is been coincides with the growing recognition of
the essential role played by the economy system in sustaining the human well-being. The current
uncertainty is affecting the nature and timing of UK Brexit. Because, maximum number of
peoples are not been aware regarding the best solution that can assist in any tough situation. The
two issues such as waste incineration and antisocial behaviour is primary concern for the better
development of the community (Puglisi and et.al., 2014). It will be further provide better option
to sustain their life according to the current climate changes.
CONCLUSION
From the above project report, it has been concluded that community is an important part
of the economy. However, in UK a specific group which is living their life is facing lot of issues
concern with their health. It is valuable to determine valuable data analysis that tends to provide
crucial information regarding their community health. Moreover, there are various key issues
that can impact the entire society as a whole. Therefore, the potential implication of climate
change on the community is required to be determining effectively so that actual solution would
be provided to overcome the problems. By the use of a accurate measure people can easy resolve
their health related issues and sustain their life in a better ways.
