Task 1: Information Technology System Concepts
Productivity application and Operating system software technology trends
In the last few years, productivity software has grown much popular as it team members
to integrate people, processes and system. The major reason behind this particular solution is to
remove email chains with an increase in collaboration among the various department (Schwalbe,
2015). There are mainly three things which are needed to be taken into account for the
productivity system like
Collaboration: The latest solution will allow the people to exchange information, store
and gaining access to it in more efficient way (Dutta, Geiger & Lanvin, 2015). It becomes very
much simple for team members for collaboration along with the opportunity for engaging on a
24*7 basis.
Integration: If there is a ton of integration that lies within a platform, then it can easily
make more convenient for all the department to make use of the solution (Marchewka, 2016). It
will mainly improve the overall efficiency as the complete thing will be under one centralized
location.
Customizability: Not all the organization work in the same way. Productivity software
needs to be designed in such that it can fit into the workflow and another way (Baller, Dutta &
Lanvin, (2016). If there is an ability to make the customization on the statuses, integration and
features then it will become much easier for the department for making use of solution.
Some of the productivity software are Troop Messenger, Trello, Redbooth, eGain and
many others.

Operating System can be considered to be as an interface which connects system to the
hardware. It is mainly the software which carries out different task like process management and
files management (Trantopoulos et al., 2017). It generally handles input along with output
followed by controlling peripheral devices like printers and drivers. Operating system mainly
executes all the function by working an interface in between system hardware and user. Some of
the popular trends in OS are
Linux Operating System: It is considered like an open-source OS. This can be
considered to be a cross-platform that is easily distinguishable and is completely depends on
Linux OS.
MAC Operating System: MAC stands for Macintosh OS. This particular system is
known to be brainchild of Apple corporation developers (Wu, Straub & Liang, 2015). OS is
completely based on graphical interface OS.
Android Operating System: In the earlier years, Android operating system have
completely emerged. But now, it has become an important part of operating system family.
Binary number system
There is large number of ways which are used for representing a number. There generally
four common terms that are associated with a system and digital electronics like decimal, octal,
hexadecimal and binary.
Decimal: These are number which is used as a base 10 and is best way used by human
being for representing numbers (Jiao & Onwuegbuzie, 2017). Decimals are abbreviated like dec.

Binary: It is the best method used in most of the digital circuits which manipulate and
represent numbers (Melián-González & Bulchand-Gidumal, 2016). A binary risk assessment
which is provided by decreasing value with ob. In most of the cases, binary is also represented as
bin.
For example: 0, 1, 10, 11, 100, 101, 110 and so on.
Octal: It is considered to be as the best choice for representing most of the digital circuits
in such a way that it is compact in-comparison to binary. Octal is generally written as Oct.
For example: 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7, 8, 9, 10 and so on.
Hexadecimal: This is considered to be as the best choice for highlighting digital
numbers. It is much more compact than binary (Lee, Thomas & Baskerville, 2015). Hexadecimal

E-commerce and M-commerce technology
M-commerce and E-commerce mainly comprises of transaction which are carried out
within a mobile phone. M-commerce is stated as the usage of mobile phones for carrying out

various business transaction (Cui et al., 2015). It generally requires the help of e-commerce and
WAP technology. M-commerce has been growing at a rapid rate in the e-commerce sector. In
India, around 70% of the online transaction takes place through mobile phone. On global level, it
is an industry of 700 billion dollars.
Benefits of M-commerce
It aims to provide convenient and easiest method to conduct business transactions.
M-commerce helps the business in targeting customer as per the location, service
provider and type of device which is used. It can be considered to be a good marketing
tool.
Drawbacks of M-commerce
The overall cost for set-up of m-commerce business using the latest technology is huge.
In some of the developing countries, it is not right for data transfer as the network service
provider is not reliable.
E-commerce is all about the method of buying and selling of goods, services and product
on the internet platform. This kind of services is generally provided on online platform through
internet network (Zhilenkov & Chernyi, 2015). The point can be explained that it is nothing but
meeting of buyers and seller on the internet platform. It requires involvement of transaction of
goods and services which help in fund transfer and data exchange.
Benefits of E-commerce
E-commerce provides a platform for global reach to sellers. It mainly intends to remove
the barrier of place.

cost of maintenance of brick shop.
Drawbacks of E-commerce
Start-up cost of e-commerce is very much high that is set-up cost of hardware and
software.
Security is another important area of concern. At present, there have been many security
breaches where customer information is completely stolen.
Task 2: Usage of IT System and Technology
CPU devices
CPU can be defined as a unit that performs major of the processing in the system. All the
instruction and data flow can be controlled from other parts of the system. CPU tends to heavily
depend on chipset and group of microchips which is located on the motherboard (Brooks,
Pomerantz & Pomerantz 2017). CPU comes up with two components that are control unit (CU)
and arithmetic logic unit (ALU).

powerful than AMD processor. For different

and software which acts as a backbone for different organization operation (Lee, Thomas &
Baskerville, 2015). The system aims to gather data from different system followed by analyzing
information.
Advantages of MIS
Provides a single integrated data system
Provides information on time basis.
Disadvantages of MIS
Inaccurate Information.
Decision Support System (DSS): It is a system program which is needed for supporting

and download e-books through internet platform.
