1COMPUTER NUMERICAL MACHINES AND MANUAL LABOR
As stated by Handel (2016)), the recent technological advancements had substantially
changed the manner in which is being completed within the workplaces of the different
industries. Dou et al. (2017) are of the viewpoint that the different technological advancements
on the one hand had improved the productivity and thereby the profitability of the corporations
and on the other hand had replaced manual labor within the same because of which numerous
workers have lost their jobs. In this relation, mention needs to be made of the computer
numerical machines which have replaced numerous workers in different industries for the
completion of tasks like cutting, wielding, flame or plasma cutting, shearing and other similar
kinds of tasks that prove to be very demanding for the workers (Mahendarto, 2020). The
effective usage of the computer numerical machines have helped the different industries to
improve their productivity, reduce their operations cost and also to improve the quality of the
products or the services manufactured by them which in turn had positively affected the
industries. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the manner in which the computer numerical
machines have affected the manual work performed by the workers in the different industries.
Computer numerical machines have substantially changed the manner in which work is
being performed in the different corporations by facilitating multitasking and this in turn had
replaced manual labor within the corporations. Moreira et al. (2019) are of the viewpoint that
over the years the productivity and thereby the profitability of the corporations used to suffer
because of the inability of their workers to multitask. However, with the usage of the different
computer numerical machines the corporations no longer have to suffer from this particular issue
since these machines are capable of multitasking which in turn had substantially enhanced the
effectiveness or for that matter the efficiency of the work performed by the business enterprises
(Londono, Mario & Mora, 2018). Adding to this, Waschull et al. (2020) have noted that these

machines are capable of handling different kinds of tasks simultaneously which is practically
impossible for a single human being to do and thereby although they have reduced the workforce
capacity of the corporations by more than half yet it is seen that their productivity had doubled.
In the light of these aspects, it can be said that although manual labor had become an obsolete
thing in the different corporations on the score of the usage of computer numerical machines yet
by promoting multitasking, enhancing the effectiveness as well as efficiency of the corporations,
computer numerical machines have been able to substantially enhance the productivity of the
corporations and thereby their productivity.
An important benefit offered by the extensive usage of thee different computer numerical
machines to the corporations can be attributed to the fact that they have helped the corporations
to significantly reduce their operations cost which in turn had helped them to maximize their
profitability. Geerts and Renda (2019) are of the viewpoint that employee wages or for that
matter employee remuneration formed an important factor which substantially enhanced the
operations cost incurred by the corporations. However, it is seen that the computer numerical
machines have completely replaced manual labor within the corporations which in turn had
enabled the corporations to downsize their workforce and keep only the workers who would be
needed for handling the machines (Balsmeier & Woerter, 2019). This in turn had helped the
corporations to substantially reduce the amount of capital that they used to spend on the wages or
the remuneration of their large workforce. More importantly, these machines by multitasking are
being able to complete the job role of numerous employees and also the corporations do not have
to spend additional capital for the healthcare policies and others of the employees that they used
to take care of in the earlier times (Øyum, Thøring & Olsen, 2019). Furthermore, this had also
reduce the expenditure of the corporations on the training and development programs, career
