CONCEPTS IN LITERATURE REVIEW 2
Concepts in the Literature Review
Well-being
Well-being is the principal concept in the literature review. The wellbeing of a person has
no universal measures or definition, but wellbeing can be seen through positive feelings, life
satisfaction, emotional feelings, social relationships, and engagement. In relation to the entire
study, the concern being raised is how OCI is going to impact the well-being of debtors.
Debt
Drawing from the literature review, research shows that debt negatively affects the well-
being of an individual. When an individual has debts they cannot provide basic needs such as
food, shelter, and clothing. Without these needs, the wellbeing of an individual is affected as the
person is likely to suffer both physically and mentally. Debt is related to the research analysis
because it makes an individual feel socially excluded, demoralized and financially stressed
which can cause mental health and eventually risking the well-being of the person
Subjective well-being
Subjective well-being is where a person has a positive feeling, happiness and is satisfied
with his life. When an individual is happy, satisfied and positive, they perform at work; he can
remain healthy and is at peace with himself. Happiness, satisfaction and a positive feeling raised
in this concept will help the researcher develop an understanding of the effect of Online
Compliance Intervention on individuals.
