EVENT

INTRODUCTION
Conferences and banqueting sectors are the part of event management. Classification of conference and
banqueting can be described as the purpose of banqueting is personal celebrations or enjoyment.
Whereas, the purpose of conference is concerned with business and it may include official meetings or trainings.
The presentation will include explanation about food production styles and system, service styles, etc.
Presentation will also include discussion about the factors which needs to be considered while planning and
organizing an off-site event.
Key menu planning considerations and ergonomic considerations will also be discussed in the presentation.

DESCRIPTION OF THE CONFERENCE EVENT
The event that is being planned is for the retail company named as “Marks & Spencer”. This event is of
2 days and it is training seminar and performance review program which would be taken by the
company's CEO.
The training seminar and performance review program will take place on 10 July 2019 from 10 AM to 6
PM for 2 days till 11 July 2019. Around 150 people will be there in this conference event.
In order to organize and implement this event, The Shard conference centre is booked for 2 days. The
last day of the event will be having Gala Dinner and party with unlimited liquor and various food items.

Factors to be considered when planning an off-site conference or
banquet
Since, the conference event is of 2 days, “Service On A Plate” needs to provide accommodation
facility to its client and guests. The event manager needs to make arrangements for breakfast, lunch
and dinner for 150 people for 2 days. Following are given various other factors which needs to be
considered while planning and organizing an off-site conference event.
Venue: This is considered as the most essential element of the off-site event. Location or venue of
the event needs to have reasonable distance from the major transporting systems such as Airports,
Railway stations, etc.
