INTRODUCTION
In this contemporary world the hospitality industry is most developing and revenue generating
industry that helps in the economic growth of the country. The hospitality industry is at the large
scale and includes the various sectors such as lodging and accommodation, tourism and
travelling, foods and beverages, event planning, entertainment and recreation etc. In this
competitive business environment the hospitality industry is flourishing itself by gaining the
competitive advantage and majorly by contributing in the economies (Li and Singal, 2021). The
present report is the study of : EasyHotel” a super budget hotel based in London. The hotel has
multiple International Hotel franchise and operates in 40 different geographical locations all over
the globe majorly in Europe. The report will outline the size and scope of the hospitality industry
and contemporary skills required in the hospitality industry. Further in the report macro and
micro environment analysis of hospitality industry is conducted in context of easy hotel and in
the end the current and potential trends affecting the hospitality industry are outlined.

TASK 1
Discuss the various businesses in the hospitality industry and their product and services
The hospitality industry is well spread and a wide industry that comprises of various business
types. Some of main businesses of hospitality industry and their diverse product and services are:
Entertainment and recreation: Entertainment and recreation sector of hospitality industry is
built for the consumer’s leisure time that takes place during the vacations or holidays for
relaxing. The products and services provided by this sector include night clubs and bars,
amusement parks, museums, cruise casinos, sports and gaming and marinas (Alberca and Parte,
2020). This production services helps the guest in experiencing fun entertainment and enjoyment
through dancing and party.
Food and Beverage: Includes culinary arts and creative beverage which is provided in the form
of products and services such as restaurants, cafes, fast food chains, pubs, takeaways, retail food
stores etc. This is the most important sector of hospitality industry as every traveller or a guest
looks for a tasty and healthy food wherever they go.
Lodging and accommodation: The lodging and accommodation sector provides the service of
accommodation to the guest travel place to place for those who are for vacation and requires a

stay. The products and services of this sector include resorts, motels, hotels, bed and breakfast
hostels, suites, penthouses and luxury hotels. Easy Hotel is the part of lodging and
accommodation sector of the hospitality industry (Tourky and et. al., 2020).
There are some other sectors like travel and tourism and time spare.
Discuss the operational and functional departments in the EasyHotel
Operational department
Food and beverage service department: The department has a duty of serving the foods and
drinks to the guests in restaurant and bar of the EasyHotel. The food that is prepared in the
kitchen and the drinks that are prepared in the bar required to be served by the food and beverage
department to the consumers on the table as per the demands of the consumers with perfect
hospitable manner.
Housekeeping department: Housekeeping department of hospitality industry and Easy Hotel has
a great impact on the services and experience of the guest. The role of this department is to make
sure that lobbies always common rooms public areas guest rooms, and restrooms all are clean
and hygienic. Housekeeping department make shows high standards are made in the cleanliness
in EasyHotel (D'Addezio, 2018).
Food production department: the food production department is also known as the kitchen
department has a role of preparing dishes that served to the consumer. The department also make
sure that food quality is standardized and also there is hygienic environment in kitchen.
Functional department
HR department: the human resource department of the EasyHotel manages the task related the
workforce such as hiring the talented candidates, managing payroll of employees, developing job
roles and their specifications, training sessions and termination of employees. The human
resource department clarify and solve the conflicts of workforce of EasyHotel.
Finance department: the finance department looks after the accounting system of the easyhotel.
The money is the lifeblood of any business therefore the its important to have this department in
the hospitality business to maintain the cash flow, budgeting and forecasting of money. The
finance department control the expenses and develop financial reports (Patiar and Wang, 2020).
Marketing department: the marketing department of EasyHotel promotes and advertise the
brand and its products and services among the consumers and competitors. This department also
