Title: “To analyse the impact coronavirus global disease and its role of mass media during the
pandemic”.
INTRODUCTION
COVID-19 is a global pandemic which is generally a infectious disease cause by group of
virus. This disease is generally caused by Wuhan in the hubei province of china in December
2019. it is spread between 210 countries is very rapid mode. The world health organisation
(WHO) declared it as pandemic in various countries. A number of population is affected due to
this infection and still going on as per the survey and details approx 13 million people are
affected by this COVID-19 at April 2020. this disease primary affect the respiratory system with
the symptoms are like fever, cough, and mild shortness of breath causing the failure of
respiration. And also for long is may cause the death. Their is no any treatment and medication is
prepared but research are going on. The role of media in this is like they reported that the virus is
originated through the Huang seafood's market. Present research report deals with analysis of
covid impact and the role of media in this situation. There has been use of both primary and
secondary sources of information to achieve the laid down objectives of the research report.
Rationale of the research:
The research is based on analysis done by the Researcher on role of media in COPVID
situation. Since the origin of the virus is from wuhan in china. So, media called is china virus or
Wuhan virus. It was called 2019-Covid and then finally as per the World health organisation
named it Covid-19. World leader usually called it Chinese virus and media rapidly reflected the
way it is affecting different geographical locations across the world. There is mainly application
of available secondary sources of information in the present research word in order to achieve
the laid objectives.
Aim:
“To examine the impact coronavirus global disease and its role of mass media during the
pandemic”
Objectives:
The objectives of the present research are mentioned below:
To evaluate the impact of corona virus as a global pandemic
Effect of corona virus on different industries

Literature review:
Evaluate the impact of corona virus as a global pandemic
According to maria cohut, 2020 the world has been affected by the COVID 19 pandemic.
There have been development of unforeseen challenges that has been cause because of the
significant tool for people across different parts of the world. There have been 2,70,000
confirmed cases across globe (Grover, and et.al., 2020). As per the latest reports there have been
maximum confirmed cases on United states. France, span and India. In the initial stages many
countries declared some of the restrictive measures to deal with this situations that includes
deferring responses and timelines response that has lead to people wondering of the authorities
have failed to address this situation. China has appeared to manage this situations in the most
effective manner by travel brand and in January 23 Chinese authorities have declared a nation
wide travel brand as some experts have suggest that they could have averted over 700,000 covid
cases in their city. China eased to lock-down measures in Wuhan that was the original epicentre
of this virus breakdown.
There was a stage of emergency that was place across the whole world. In Italy the lock-down
was extended to may and European countries have also hit hard by such lock-down situations.
Apart from the physical damage & issues that has been cause by covid pandemic there has been
complete distraction on the mental health of individuals such as people have been going through
situations of depression and isolation because of the Lock-down scenario where they are locked
in their homes and are not allowed to move out (COVID-19 global impact: How the coronavirus
is affecting the world, 2020).
Effect of corona virus on different industries
Accordance with the views of Prateek saxena, 2020 corona virus pandemic has hit 6.8
million lives with deaths that have been numbered to 397,000 across globe. In UK the
coronavirus death have surpassed by 127,000 ion number. In past few months it has been first
headlines that have affected the whole situation (Li, Xue, and Zhao, 2020). Different industries
have been affected by the pandemic in most different manner but is is true that there has been a
negative impact on the overall situation. In case of manufacturing and the logistic. Out of survey
1 out of 5 top manufacturing industry is relying on Chinese markets. It has been identified that

people have been finding it difficult to unload and load materials in the real time. This has lead
to a negative impact on the manufacturing sector.

Travel and tourism industry has also affected as corona Virus has lead to brink of collapse for
such industry. And the projected impact on revenue of Tourism industry is mentioned below:

The industry is facing a 6 times of the loses that have been counted according to the 9/11 attack
because of many reasons such as boundaries have been closed, international and national flights
have been grounded and the direct situation is that aviation industry is majorly impacted.
Healthcare industry has also been affected because of this covid pandemic such as the medical
practitioners and surgeons are doing work at odd shits and resulting their masks that is leading to
prolonged issues for people suffering from already serious diseases such as diabetes, cancer and
need dialysis. There has been widening of gaps between rich and poor. There has been a
somewhat positive impact on the healthcare industry as it has encouraged the mobile health app
development solutions such as telemedicine, virtual doctor consultation apps and tele health
(Xiong and et.al., 2020).
E commerce is also industry that has been majorly affected as people in this situation is no
longer laying emphasis on shopping from bricks and motor stores. People are preferring online
shopping situations. But people are controlling purchases by limitations that is leading to a
scenario where there is only preferences for essential products (Dwivedi, and et.al., 2020). There
has been a collective growth of the online shopping industry worldwide as there has been a
growth in the online shoppers across all the countries. customers expectations is also taking a
dramatic shift as they have been more selective, demanding and for higher personalized
experiences.
The impact on government sector is quite astonishing, as virus has resulted in suspension of tours
and in person meetings at white house and different other legislation worldwide. There has been
difficulty for government to aware millions of users about the associated risks with this virus and
there has to be prevention of misinformation so that such issues are addressed with proper
medical facilities.
The Role of mass media during the pandemic
According to view points of Surabh sambhav, 2020 Media has been playing a role of a
bridging the gap between the society and government in the situation of COVID pandemic.
Media has been able to recognize the robust power that how world is dealing with this situation
of corona virus. It has played a crucial role in making the public being more aware about the
situation. Different types of media sources such as print media and digital media has played a
role in connecting people as there was social distancing which was followed all through the
affected areas in the world (Role of Mass Media and Communication during Pandemic Key Role

at Crucial Stage: Categories and Challenges, 2020). social media has lead to a situation where
it created more adherence to public safety measures that have been suggested by global health
organisations to combat the spread of Covid 19. government has been also using mass Media as
a source to refrain people from posting anything wrong on such platforms but to post things that
are informative and make people understand the level of seriousness of this situation at both
local, international and national level (Role of Social Media in COVID-19 Pandemic, 2020).
Research methodology
Research approach:
Deductive analysis: Deductive analysis is a analytical method that is aimed at testing the existing
categories, models, concepts, hypotheses and concepts,. It is referred as a theoretical structure in
which there is application of a new context of data.
Inductive analysis: It is aimed at systematic generating of a theory that is ground in a specific
instances for generation of some empirical observation, it is having a sharp contrast with
deductive methodology that is theoretical and conceptual in nature and is structured is tested
through use of observation.
Qualitative analysis: qualitative analysis is a subjective judgement that is used for the purpose of
making a analysis of the company overall value and the prospective that is based on non
quantifiable information that is related to management expertise, strength of research, industry
and labour relations.
Quantitative analysis: Qualitative analysis is a technique that is part of the statistical and
mathematical calculations. It is a technique that is based on use of statistical, modelling and
measurement of different techniques to evaluate a particular research behaviour. In this there is
representation of collected form of data in a numerical form only.
In present research work there is application of qualitative form of data as there has been
collection of different associated theories and information which is collected from the online
articles, journals in order to achieve the laid aims of the research.
Sampling: Sampling is a process that is based on statistical analysis and there is predetermined
observations that are selected from the larger population. In present research report for the
purpose of collection of the required information from the respondents there is requirement to
collect information from employees that are part of the media industry. It is going to further
assist in evaluating the information (Paruthi and et.al., 2016). For this purpose other has been use

of random sampling as a method where the sample has been selected based on random scenario.
There is no specific systematic criteria that has been used to collect the sample from whole
population size.
Data collection methods:There are basically two methods that are identified for the purpose of
data collection:
Primary method: It is the method in which there is first hand collection of information. There is
use of questionnaire for the purpose of collecting the primary form of information from the
respondents. There is a sample size of 30 respondent that have been used in this research report.
Secondary method: It is a method in which there is used of secondary sources of information
that are already existing for the purpose of collecting the information. It is the second hand
information sources that is already existing and there is no primary data that is being used. In
present report there has been use of existing sources that includes the online articles, journals,
books, author view points that are already existing (Grace, and et.al., 2020).
Ethical considerations: Research has ensured that all the ethical considerations have been taken
care in the whole research (Venterea, and et.al., 2020). Such as there are some of the broad areas
that are considered in the research that include there has been voluntary participation of
respondents, informed consent, communication of results, anonymity, confidentiality of all the
information that has been considered by the respondents.
Research limitations: There are some of the limitation of the whole research that has affected
the overall functions in the course of whole Research work (Sinnenberg and et.al., 2017). It
includes there has been issues related to selection of the exact sample size, there is insufficient
sample size, there is listed access to data, there have been some of the time constraint that have
also impacted the overall quality of Research work.
Resources:
There are some of the specific resources that are required in the research work. That includes
staff member's to perform different associated activities according to availability of time period.
Different activities according to specified time limit is mentioned below that has been explained
with the help of a Gantt chart as depicted below:
