1 Corporate Social Responsibility. Executive Summary This report deals with every kind of corporate social responsibilities done by the companies to make some social activities. These kinds of activities are done by the companies to satisfy the society and to enhance the fact that the companies have some responsibilities towards the society and towards the people of the society. It also creates the brand awareness and increases the brand value also. This report will emphasize upon the CSR activities done by the Unilever Company and the causes of its failure. There will be the analysis done upon the reason behind the failure. Two multinational entities like Apple and the Coca Cola will be elucidated here and there CSR activities will be discussed. The reason of their success is discussed below with proper analytical data and evaluation.

Introduction According to Mirela Danubianu and Cristian Teodorescu the CSR activities are the combination of the responsibilities, obligations and activities for the sake of the development of the society and for the whole community. The endorsement of the top management and the involvement of the external facilitator can improve the CSR policies. There should be certain advisory board which will deal with the projects and the activities related to the CSR. The portfolio and the mission and the vision statement should enhance the CSR activities of the organization.TheCSRactivitiesshouldbethesumofthepropercommunication, involvementwithmonitoring,reportingandsystematicevaluation.Now-a-daysthe companies are focusing not only in profit but also upon the appropriate things. To make the organization strong and effective the managers are trying to build a good organizational behavior. There are several ways through which the companies can enhance their brand value and the CSR activity is one of those. It also enhances their brand awareness (Hoffman, Frederick & Schwartz 2014). The organizational behavior should be ethical and follows some set of principles based on morality and values. The values and the principles elucidate the difference between the good and bad. Managers of the organizations should follow and maintain some ethics so that the organization faces very nominal harms. There should be certain guidelines through which the employees and stuffs will come to know about the ethical issues and that will set the dos and don’ts. The principles which indicate the right and wrong should be followed to maintain effective ethical behavior in the organization. Some researchers defines that the wrong activities as the workplace deviance (Lawrence & Weber 2014). The deviance in the property is also unethical and calls as the wrong activity. There are four kinds of deviances happen in the organization those are production deviance which elucidates early leaving from the work place, taking breaks in an excessive manner during the

Second deviance is that property deviance which defines harming the resources and the equipment, receiving the kickbacks, robbery from the workplace or from the organization. The third deviance is the political deviance which, consist of favoritism, making the gossips and fraud conversation about the co-workers, making blames to the co-workers and making the errors while evaluating the employees (Ruggie 2013). The last and fourth deviance is the personal aggression which defines the sexual harassment in the work place, using slang language or abusing someone verbally and mostly endangering and threating the co-workers or other employees. Managers should take care about this and they have to make some effective rules and norms related to these unethical practices. The victims should get the punishments (Tsalikis & Fritzsche 2013). The organization should enhance their moral development and through this the unethical behavior can be eliminated (Shaw 2016). There should be some principles which should be maintained by the managers in their ethical decision making (Quinlan 2019). In the time of the selection the behavior of the employees should be judged by the employer and the managers should give proper training for the betterment of their ethics or the code of ethics should be placed by the employer in the mind and heart of the employees (Trevino & Nelson 2016). Special care and training only can develop the ethics of the employees. Managers should maintain the working atmosphere and the ethics and disciplines should be built by the employer in the work place so that the employees and the stuffs never become affected by some unethical issues (Crane 2019). Discussion According to Jie Zou’s article the needs of the stake holders should be met by the organization and the organization should satisfy them through their behavior, processes and culture. CSR activities are the responsibilities of the organization towards society and the

He emphasizes that CSR activities is a multi-dimensional concept.Organizations should follow and maintain a road-map and the road-map should be established in such a way that it can be established and the work can be accomplished by the organization (Ferrell & Fraedrich 2015). The activities which are choosing by the company should deal with the current issues of the society and of the environment (Carroll & Buchholtz 2014). Through these activities the society should be benefited and the betterment of the people should be done. The top management should accomplish the CSR activities and complete it. The preparatory audit should be done and the audit department should assess the CSR activities so that it can be performed in systematic way (Öberseder, Schlegelmilch & Murphy 2013). Stakeholders like the business stake holders, societal and inner stake holder also should be engaged in the CSR activities and the whole community should be benefited by this (Morsing & Roepstorff 2015). The CSR activities are done to develop the public awareness (Chen & Hung-Baesecke 2014). CSR activities should nurture some factors of the society those are protection of environment and makingthesustainabledevelopment,educationenhancement,lesscorruptioninthe workplace, proper maintenances of the laws and regulations increase the stakeholder’s awareness, identify one’s abilities and skills for providing the academic assistance like scholarships and other kinds of welfare activities (Jiang & Wong 2016). Coca Cola is another beverage company which is maintaining very effective CSR activities in several aspects of their life cycle (Foster 2014). They are focusing upon educational programs, environmental issues, communal development, and relief from the humanitarian disaster (Karnani 2014). They are also concern about the healthy living and health issues. In the year of 2013 the company paid the attention in the education and empowerment of the workers. They are focusing upon the labor welfare and human rights issues so that the company becomes ethically strong and the code of the business become fruitful. The efficiency of the consumption of the energy is improved by twenty percent. The company has dictated that it will reduce the carbon foot print by 25% before the year of 2020. Coca Cola has operated and supported two hundred and ninety physical programs in approximately 125 countries all over the world. They are providing proper guidance related to the health and safety issues of the employees and of the workers in the workplace. The sexual harassment is strictly prohibited in the workplace and the gender diversity is also nurtured in an efficient way by the management (Chaklader & Gautam 2013).
