It has been seen and find out that the covid-19 has created most drastic and
negative impact of the hospitality industry based on the sudden lockdown that
created decline in the productivity level of the catering, hotels, and retail to
sports centers, conference venues, theme parks, and casinos (Mensah, and et.
al., 2022). Thus, the topic of the project is the effect of COVID-19 on the
hospitality industry in UK. The research aims to identify the effect on
hospitality industry during the crisis as COVID has effected various industries.
The objectives of this research include;
To determine about the specific challenge created and lead out by the
covid-19 on the hospitality industry of the UK that includes catering,
hotels, and retail to sports centers, conference venues, theme parks,
and casinos.
To review about the overall impact of covid-19 on the hospitality
industry based on its effect on catering, hotels, and retail to sports
centers, conference venues, theme parks, and casinos.
To recommend some effective ways and measures that can be opted
by the hospitality industry of UK to mitigate and reduce the challenges
of Covid-19.
It has been seen and evaluated that the conducting and undertaking current
study is rationale ad significant as it focused in determining about the overall
challenges of covid-19 on hospitality industry along with supporting with
better recommendation about ways to mitigate its research. beside this, it
tends to be a novel study as the impact of Covid-19 has seen on different
companies and industries but the effect of COVID-19 on the UK hospitality
sector has not been studied in detail which would be bring in and supported
by current project (Amore, 2022). Beside this, the current study is also
significant as it specifically provided the analysis of challenges of covid-19 on
catering, hotels, and retail to sports centers, conference venues, theme parks,
and casinos.
Methodology – rationale, data selection and collection, recruitment,
participant demographics, analytical process

participant demographics, analytical process
Rationale
The selection of current topic is tending to be rationale as it has been seen that the spread of the
covid-19 has tend to create and lead out too many challenges and issues for the hospitality
Industry of UK that includes and comprises of the catering, hotels, and retail to sports
centers, conference venues, theme parks, and casinos. A decline in their
productivity is being seen because of the covid-19 based on sudden lockdown
and strict social distancing norms. Therefore, undertaking current
investigation on key challenge lead by covid-19 along with best possible way
to mitigate them is rationale and significant. Apart from thus, the undertaking
of current investigation also meets the personal interest of the researcher and
ensures better development and improvement with the key skill and
knowledge level. The specific research questions set out for current
investigation are provided as below:
Research questions
Which are the specific challenge created and lead out by the covid-19 on
the hospitality industry of the UK that includes catering, hotels, and
retail to sports centers, conference venues, theme parks, and casinos?
What possible impact of covid-19 is being seen on the hospitality industry
based on its effect on catering, hotels, and retail to sports centers,
conference venues, theme parks, and casinos.
Which can be the effective ways and measures that can be opted by
the hospitality industry of UK to mitigate and reduce the challenges of
Covid-19?
To effectively evaluate and achieve the set research objective based on effective analysis and
review of set research questions following research method is proposed to carry out current
investigation in systematic manner.
Research philosophy- From the two main types of research philosophy i.e. positivistic and
interpretivisim making use of the interpretivisim is being propped for current project. The reason
behind making use of interpretivisim philosophy is based on fact that it supports better
generalisation of facts to effectively analysis and reviewed the set research objectives based on
detailed form of investigation (Park, Kim and Kim, 2022).
Research approach- Deductive and inductive are two main types of the research approach from
which the use of the inductive approach is being proposed for current investigation. The use of
covid-19 has tend to create and lead out too many challenges and issues for the hospitality
Industry of UK that includes and comprises of the catering, hotels, and retail to sports
centers, conference venues, theme parks, and casinos. A decline in their
productivity is being seen because of the covid-19 based on sudden lockdown

Research approach- Deductive and inductive are two main types of the research approach from
which the use of the inductive approach is being proposed for current investigation. The use of
the inductive approach is suitable for current study as it in line with the interpretivisim
philosophy and also supports better scanning and review of the theoretical set of data to
effectively achieve the set objective.
Research strategy- The use of systematic literature review would be made as the research
strategy that supports a systematic and effective way to analysis and review the pre-existing set
of data and literature that tend to lead a better base and framework for undertaking and
creating knowledge (Richardson, 2022).
Choice of method- There are two main methods of undertaking and carryout a research work
that comprises and includes of the quantitative and qualitative research method out of which the
use of the qualitative method of research is proposed for current study as it offers detailed and
in-depth set of data to generalise and meet the set objective.
Data collection- Out of the two main sources of the data collection I.e. primary and secondary
use of the only secondary source of data analysis has been proposed for current study. Use of
primary source of information is not made as it is complex and time conducing in nature that
involves collection of data directly from participants. Further, the justification for making use of
only secondary source of data is based on fact that it is cost and time efficient in nature and
supports better review of objective based on pre-existing set of data. Use of online sources of
data such as online journals., books, articles etc. would be made for collection of data (Datta and
Mitra, 2022).
