Assessment Submission Guidelines
All assessments must be submitted by the due date specified by the Trainer/Assessor on the UIT
Learning Management System (Moodle). To log in to UIT Moodle visit

When submitting assessments students agree that it is their own work, except where
acknowledged, and has not been submitted for academic credit elsewhere.
If you miss an Assessment Deadline:
If you miss a scheduled assessment you are required to provide proof of legitimate absence within three (3)
working days after the official due date.
Proof must be provided to the Student Services Department and may be required to complete an
assessment extension application form.
If the proof is not provided within the time period, then the student will receive a ‘Not Yet
Competent (NYC)’ outcome.
No supplementary assessments will be scheduled without proof of legitimate absence.
If the proof of legitimate absence is rejected, the student can appeal to the VET Academic
department.

Re-submission
Students are permitted 2 attempts for each assessment task. If you are deemed Not Yet Competent (NYC)
for the unit, you must re-enrol and pay the required tuition fees for the unit.

Assessment Task and Unit Outcome
All individual assessment tasks are marked as either Satisfactory (S) or Not Satisfactory (NS).
Once all individual assessment tasks are marked Satisfactory (S) for a unit, the student can be deemed
Competent (C).
If the student does not achieve Satisfactory (S) results for all individual assessment tasks for a unit, they will
be deemed Not Yet Competent (NYC).
Reasonable Adjustment
At the Trainer/Assessors discretion reasonable adjustment, also known as reasonable accommodation, may

Purpose of the checklist

Satisfactory or Not Satisfactory.

Resubmissions and reattempts

Assessment task description:
This is the fourth (4) unit assessment task you have to successfully complete to be deemed
competent in this unit of competency.
This assessment task is comprised of a presentation and a role play to be completed in front of your
trainer/assessor.
You are required to present different aspects of project administration as per the instructions.
You are required to perform role-plays on administrating the contract breaches / termination of a
contract.
You will receive your feedback within two weeks - you will be notified by your Trainer /Assessor
when results are available.
Applicable conditions:
This presentation test is timed.
Time allowed to deliver the presentation is 15-20 minutes.
Time allowed to develop required resources for presentation is 3 weeks prior to the presentation.
You are expected to make 10-12 slides of PowerPoint presentation.
Time allowed for each role play is 20- 25 minutes
Electronic devices are allowed during this assessment task.
You must complete the task independently.
No marks or grades are allocated for this assessment task. The outcome of the task will be
Satisfactory or Not Satisfactory.
As you complete this assessment task you are predominately demonstrating your practical skills,
techniques and knowledge to your trainer/assessor.
Trainer/Assessor may ask you relevant questions during this assessment task.
Resubmissions and reattempts:
Where your answers are deemed not satisfactory after the first attempt, a resubmission attempt
will be allowed.
You must speak to your Trainer/Assessor if you have any difficulty in completing this task and
require reasonable adjustments (e.g. can be given as an oral assessment).

How your trainer/assessor will assess your work?
This assessment task requires the student to do a presentation related to different aspects of
project administration and perform role plays on contract breaches/termination of a contract.
Presentation must demonstrate the student’s understanding and skills of the unit.
Student need to be briefed on the presentation/role play a minimum of 3 weeks prior to the due
date as set out in the delivery and assessment guide for this unit.
Your assessor will provide you with initial oral feedback in class, after the presentations by yourself
and others. This may take the form of individual feedback, if time allows, or it may be incorporated
in observations of a general nature in the debriefing exercise following the role play. Written
feedback incorporating the feedback on your individual presentation, role play and preparatory
work will be provided within two weeks from the due date of your assessment.
If all assessment tasks are deemed Satisfactory (S), then the unit outcome is Competent (C).
If at least one of the assessment task is deemed Not Satisfactory (NS), then the unit outcome is Not
Yet Competent (NYC).
Once all assessment tasks allocated to this Unit of Competency have been undertaken,
trainer/assessor will complete an Assessment plan to record the unit outcome. The outcome will be
either Competent (C) or Not Yet Competent (NYC).

Instructions to complete this assessment task:
This task is closely related the assessment task 2 & 3.
This task is required to be done in following two (2) parts:
o Part A- presentation related to specified criteria’s.
o Part B- Roleplays for demonstrating contract administration skills
Student must perform the role of project administrator and three (3) other students must play the
role of relevant stakeholders.
You must use PowerPoint to develop your presentation.
You may use models, aids, equipment’s to deliver your presentation effectively.
Presentation may include diagrams, infographics, and pictures to be interactive and interesting.
Role plays/ Presentations provide students with the opportunity to take part in activities which

Presentation: This task is to be conducted in two parts.
Part A: (Presentation which includes a minimum of 6 slides)
This task is in continuation for the UAT2 and UAT3. You are required to do a presentation related to
administration of a contract. Presentation should have minimum 6 slides.
PN-1 Show various types of building and construction contracts and present the application of each
contract. While presenting, explain these with respect to the state relevant legislation
requirements as well
PN-2 Present the contract, which is selected for task UAT2 and UAT3 with the criteria’s for
selection.
PN-3 Identify and present the range of documents that collectively make up the selected contract.
PN-4 Present the importance of rise and fall clause in the contracts with a prime cost item.
PN-5 Present the appropriate certificate requirements to finalise the contract
PN.6 List the documentation arising from finalisation of a contract and how to secure for records
purposes.
Part B: (2 Scenarios in which students need to perform Role Play)
This task requires the student to participate in a role-play as per the instructions provided. One student
should act as a contract administrator in all the scenarios and the other students should take the other
roles specified. Following contract breaches had happened in your project.
o Refusal to carry out work.
o Failure to make payments.
o Failure to proceed regularly and diligently.
o Failure to remove or rectify defective works.
You are required to handle the situation with other team members (up to a team of 3-5 students) as well as
the client
RP.1: In this role-play, make arrangements to how to avoid the termination of contract. You need to make
sure that all the parties are agreed to the contractual terms and the project is back on track. Imagine that
one of the subcontractors who had some significant breach of contract is only available on phone. Include
him also in the role-play by adding in to a telephonic conference.
RP.2: In this role-play, imagine all the efforts to get back the project on track is failed. You are only left with
the option to terminate the project. Perform the role-play in which you are terminating the contract with
the relevant legislation and contractual provisions. After role-play the student should explain how he is
going to communicate the outcome to the Organisation and external parties, including client and
subcontractors.
Students are expected to ask questions and the person acting as administrator is to answer the questions
