INTRODUCTION
Recycling is a magic. So this report states how East End College implements recycling in
its premises. This report states how it is essential for the East End College to establish recycling
in its premises. This report defines how the college can establish this in its premises by proper
research and devising all the expenses and returns associated with it (Ajmal, 2010). This report
also have a Gantt Chart which properly states the work break down structure and the time frame
all the activities require. A management plan is also prepared in this report to establish the stated
aim effectively with a proper planning. A proper research and analysation of data have been done
in this report to prepare the plans and strategies according to the data.
TASK 1
P1 Aims and objectives
The project is prepared to establish recycling activities in the East End college. Recycling
means utilising the things in such a way that the resources are maximum consumed. Three
elements of recycling are reuse, reduce and recycle. So this project's aims and objectives are
associated with establishment of recycling in the East End College. This is done to bring
awareness among the college students and the employees that they should use the resources
completely (Bloch, 2012). This is to promote less wastage and more utilisation of the resources.
Hence this project's aims and objectives are associated with it and they are: Establishment Of The Recycling Activity: The main objective of the project is to
establish the recycling process in the premises of the college by a proper setup to initiate
it. East End College is aiming at getting the wastage recycled so the project aims at
developing it. To do so cost estimation, time division for each activity to establish
recycling etc. has to be done so this project aims at providing all the details about these
activities. Control Over The Cost: This project aims at providing the guideline to East End College
how much money they need to invest in establishment of this activity. The college is
initiating this to reduce the cost and have a control over the wastage so this project aims
at providing the details to do so (.den Hertog, 2010). The basic aims is to make the
reduction in cost by utilising the resources fully.
Document Page
Reduction In Wastage: The main objective is to provide a complete study to reduce
wastage in East End College. Making everyone aware about not wasting the resources so
that there would be least unavailability of the things which is required in college. It is a
good and very must step in today's world to not waste things so the project aims at
providing a complete study on this. Social Responsibility: Recycling of the resources automatically contributes to social
responsibility so this project also aims at contributing to the social responsibility. Proper Utilisation Of Resources: Recycling automatically is the way to utilise the
resource fully and completely (Eckerson, 2010). So this projects objective is to provide
the plan to proper utilise the resources to promote sustainable development.
Making People Aware: This project also aims at making people aware about how
recycling can be useful in college. How it will contribute to the college operations which
will help it to have a control over the wastage.
P2 A project management plan that covers various factors
When a project is made different factors are associated with it which implies to the
working of the project. While making a project many factors are to be taken care which are
directly or indirectly related to the project's management. So while preparing a project various
factors are to be managed and these factors which constitutes a project management plan are: Cost: The proper planning of the cost that would occur while doing and making the task
assigned is to be done. Financial resources are very essential for any business so as in
East End College so to have the minimum wastage of it the college has to prepare budget
for the project and plans it initiate (Freeman, 2011). Cost of about £10000 will be
incurred by the college while bringing this project in action. So the college has to manage
it accordingly. Scope: This project have a very wide scope which aims at promoting Recycling which
will reduce the wastage and the resources which cab be utilised will be utilised by the
college. This will also help in sustainable development and also fulfils social
responsibility of the business. Time: Time wasted never comes back. There must be a proper management of the time in
the project management plan. Each and every task has to be assigned the time and
according to it the task has to be completed so that there is effectiveness in the project.

Quality: The college is an educational institute if it provides the recycling knowledge to
the students and the people in the college than it is automatically creating more people
who are inclined towards society (Keller, 2011). This will generate the best quality of
people who care about the resources. So the main objective is to develop a quality of
thinking which aims at recycling of the waste. Communication: Awareness among the people about how they can reduce reuse and
recycle the resources. This requires communication and for the effective communication
the channel of transfer of information is to be used. Risk: There is a risk associated with every activity which is performed. So the success of
this project completely depends on how effectively the information is transferred and
how keenly people work on it.
Resources: The main and the most essential objective is to maintain the use of wastage.
This project aims at utilisation of resources efficiently and effectively. So the personnel
and the people who are engaged in this project also should utilise their knowledge fully.
P3 A work breakdown structure and a Gantt Chart
Work breakdown structure is a way to simply the confusion related to the work. This is a
structure which states that who has to do what and all the necessary information associated with
the work one has to do in any organisation. This structure is formed to reduce the workload on a
single person and dividing it in the best way so as to have effectiveness in the work performance.
Normally in a work breakdown structure the whole project is divided into tasks and these tasks
are assigned to the people who can do them in a most perfect way. This is done to reduce the
workload on a single person (E.G. and Weaver, 2014). After everyone performs their task the
whole performance is compiled to form the result for the whole project. This will lead to
completion of the work on time with joint efforts of the people associated with it. This can be
used by the East End College to have proper breakdown of the work in tasks of the recycling
project initiation sop that the work can be done efficiently and effectively. This will help the
college to properly divide the work according to the specifications and the abilities of the people.
The below is a work break down structure in which the work can be divided in East End College
to initiate recycling in the college.

A Gantt chart is a chart that represents the time division between the activities which are
associated with a program. This chart is a systematic presentation of the time which is to be
divided into different activities after proper assessment of the work in that activity. This chart
helps in setting a standard for the activity to be performed in a given time. In last this helps in
comparing the actual performance with standard so as to have a proper conclusion to further
develop the process of time framing in the further activities (Sparrow, 2012). To prepare a Gantt
hart first the aims and objectives are to be identified. According to the aims and objectives the
resources has to be allocated. Than a project management plan has to be prepared for the whole
project. After this the proper utilisation of the resources has to be done which leads to proper
division of the work. Than a research has to be done associated with the project to know the
actual status of the project. According to that strategies has to be developed for the college. After
all the result states that whether the goals and objectives are achieved as stated or not. Below is
the Gantt Chart which represents the proper picture:

objectives

execution
Achieving goals
The above Gantt Chart states how the time in 10 weeks has to be divided into different
activities of the project. This will help the college to compare the actual time utilised and the
standard time assigned (Kowalkowski, 2011). This way the performance can be examined and
assessed to take appropriate actions regarding the project which has to be executed.
TASK 2
P4 A small-scale research
The students have conducted research by using qualitative and quantitative methods.
Quantitative research consists of the method of collecting the data from a number of people and
by that data reaching out to a specified results which could help to analyse the situation. In this
kind of research the numbers, figures and all the mathematical tools are used.
Qualitative research consist of conducting the research on the basis of some information that
could be of any type (D. and Brehmer, 2011). This may include the likes and dislikes of the
person and all such factors which can't be calculated in numerical terms but can be felt and
realised and a conclusion can be withdrawn out of it.
To conduct the research and to collect the data for evaluation through quantitative and
qualitative techniques. A questionnaire has to be formed and that questionnaire is as follows:

The above data has been analysed by using various tools and techniques and they are
stated as follows:
MS-Excel: It is a software which is used in the data interpretation and graph
representation of the data which is being collected. Likewise in this report the
questionnaire has been filled by 20 respondents according to which data has been
analysed in the ms-excel software by representing it in pie chart. This is software
which makes the research easy and definable by which data can be interpreted
easily.
P6 Data analysis and recommendations for conclusion
The above research concludes various factors which can be used by the firm to inter-
prate the scenario of the situation. As in this report East End College wants to implement
recycling in the college which is a very good effort. So a research on what people actually thinks
about this is being conducted (Parameswaran, 2011). 20 respondents were given a questionnaire
to fill their responses and according to their response a conclusion has been drawn which states
that what actually people think about recycling. In this research it is being concluded that most of
the people are in favour of recycling but only a few of them practice it. It might be due to less
awareness of recycling and the methods which can be used in recycling. Not practising recycling
implies a negative impact on the society because the resources are scare and their utilisation is
not done properly.
A research is conducted to ascertain the good and bad, appropriate and inappropriate
factors. So this is being conducted to have data and information about what would be the impact
of doing any activity in the operation of an organisation. Everyone should take a responsibility of
reducing the wastage of resources and utilising them properly which will lead to generation of
resources for the next generation (Polonsky, 2014). Sustainability is not achieved by chance but
by some efforts which are jointly put by the people as a team. So as in East End College the
people and the managing department has to work coordinated to implement recycling process in
the premises of the college.

TASK 3
P7 Values and Learning
Learning is a lifelong process. It continues till lifetime of a person. Conducting a research
opens the mind of a person. So while conducting this research I have learnt various important
factors which can help me in my career and day to day life. Importance of recycling and how it
can be useful to the operations of any business id being learnt by me while conducting this
research. East End College is an educational institute which can implement the recycling as a
study which can be taught to the students who are in that college. I have learnt about how a
project has to be done, planned and assessed to have the best result (Smith, 2013). Stating the
clear goals and objectives of the project which is being initiated must be the first and foremost
thing which has to be done is also being learnt by me. This knowledge can help me to develop
sustainability in any business operations by adopting various means of CSR activities in which
one which is adopted here is recycling of the waste. This will lead to proper utilisation of
resources and development of the college in a best in positive manner. The division of time with
a proper evaluation to achieve target is also learnt by me in this project which will help in time
management. The value associated with conducting this research is very important which aims at
developing the college properly. This recycling concept also improve the quality of thinking in
people as it will come up with creativity and new ideas which will improve the thinking capacity
of the people (Gonin, 2013). This also made me to learn the improvement in quality when
execution of a new activity is there.
The experience of conducting a research also made me to learn how to use the various
tools and techniques of research while doing so. Operating various software to support the
research has also been learnt by me. Ms-excel is a very useful software which can be used by
anyone to calculate and the use of its different tools makes the representation more presentable.
CONCLUSION
The research report is very useful and significant as it aims at a positive development of
business. It is being concluded by this research report that recycling is very important.
Population is rising and the resources are becoming scarce so how important is to reduce waste
and recycle the things. A proper formation of the research and conducting that research to obtain
supportive result for the scenario is being understood by this report. This research also concludes

how all these activities will be supporting the introduction of the recycling process in the
premises of East End College. Also this research report enhances the development of knowledge
which will increase the learning of the person who is a part of it. The overall development of a
person is associated with this initiation. This will also help the college to develop the mindset of
the students who are studying in it by motivating them to think more creatively so that new ways
can be generated to use the waste fully with an attractive and usable result. As we know in
present scenario the need are more of the people so as to supply which creates problems so this is
to be resolved.
