Introduction
 The study aim to analyse the critical and ethical leadership which aid value in
providing suitable assistance to the business in enhancing their operations and
production. Therefore, leadership is all about termed as the form of leadership where
individual demonstrate the execution of the common good which is acceptable and
appropriate in every area of their life. The chosen business for this analysis is Bechtel.
This is an American engineering procurement, construction and the project
management business which was founded in the year of 1906 by the efforts of Warren
A. Bechtel. The headquarter of the firm is in Reston, Virginia, United State. My target
job in this industry is to work in construction business of a top repopulated brand as a
construction manager whose main role and responsibility is to manage production of
buildings as well as manage workforce working in construction department.

Research Methods
There are two main types of data collection methods that can be used for 360- degree
appraisal, that are:
Primary data collection methods: Primary data is a kind of data which is collected for the
first time with the help of survey, questionnaire, focus group and by many other
techniques
Secondary data collection methods: Secondary data is a data that has already been
published and can be collected from magazines, journals, government updates, websites
etc.

360 degree appraisal
 360 degree is an evaluation process in which information can be gained from multiple
sources like from oneself, colleagues, supervisors, sub ordinates etc.
 Within car factories this, 360- degree appraisal method is extremely important to be
used because using this method leaders can make their employees understand skills that
are required to be developed by them in order to bring improvement within themselves
and they can also develop skills that can help an individual in becoming effective
ethical and creative future leaders and can further help in opening future career growth
opportunities for them.

Evaluation in light of target job of
construction manager in construction
industry
 As a construction manager it is my first and the foremost responsibility to motivate my
sub- ordinates so that they can work upon their performance, participate within raining
and development program in order to enhance their current skills and qualities so that
desired goal can be achieved.
 I do have ability to influence and motivate my colleagues or sub ordinates so that they
can focus upon bringing improvement within their own skills and qualities.
 Another important skill that a construction manager working in Bechtel Corporation
posses is to help their sub ordinates to gain control over their emotions and behave in
an appropriate manner even in high pressure situation.

From the above data analysis of questionnaire filled for self- evaluation of
ethical, creative and general leadership capabilities possessed by one-self, it has been
interpretated that:

Interpretation: From the above analysis it has been interpretated that I do have skills
that help me in helping others so that they can gain control over their emotions and
behaviour even in high pressure situations. As per the view point of my co-worker as
well I do possess skills of influencing others so that they can gain control over their
emotions and behave in an appropriate manner regardless of the situation.

important skill which is required to be present within ethical leaders so that they can
motivate others to work ethically.

Interpretation: As per the feedback given by my colleague and my me it has been analysed
that I do take responsibilities of my own actions and decisions taken by me. It is
extremely important for creative and ethical leaders to take responsibilities of their own
actions or decisions because they work as ideal for their subordinates and for their
followers and if they will not take responsibilities of their own action and decisions
then it will impact working of other employees and they will start working in an
unproductive and unethical manner.

Interpretation: From the analysis of the study it has been interpreted that, as per my own
opinion I always tend to take responsibility and work as an expert to resolve the

worker I was putting quite less efforts to resolve the issue.

Interpretation: As per the analysis of the study I pose to say this I am evaluating the
performance of others via monitoring their performance and my co-worker said it can
better be possible by evaluating the video and audio recording of individual daily
performance.

Interpretation: The study has stated that, as per my opinion management by the objective is
the effective system which combines superior along with self evaluating systems in the
enterprise and my co-worker is in concern with the forced choice.

Interpretation: As per the evaluation of the study, it has been analysed that a pat on back on
an employee is the way I can seen recognition in the venture and my co-worker does not
think the same as the individual said that promotion is also an effective way.

Evaluation on self- appraisal
 So, from the above interpretation it has been evaluated that some of my main strengths
are: controlling others emotions and behaviour under high pressure situation,
influencing and motivating others, and take responsibility of one’s own actions and
behaviour.
 These skills are important to be present within a leader so that they can successfully
bring improvement within overall work of their subordinates or followers.
 But this analysis has also helped me in identifying my weaknesses upon which I need
to work on in order to become an effective creative and ethical leader.
 Some of these areas of skills upon which improvement is required to be brought is learn
from others mistake and implement that learning in an appropriate within different
areas in order to become an ethical and creative leader.

Conclusion
From the above assignment it has been summarized that there are various kinds of skills
that is required to be present within construction managers working in construction
business in order to become creative and ethical leaders. It has further been analysed
that it is important for construction managers to be creative and ethical leaders so that
positive changes within current activities or produces can be brought as per changing
needs and demands of customers and in order to motivate employees or workers so that
they can bring improvement within their overall performance in order to achieve
desired goals and objectives.
