INTRODUCTION Crisis communication refers to the efforts of organisation which are used to communicatewith the media and customers at the time of unexpected event. It is considered as the essentialteam which helps in protecting reputation of the company in crisis. Sainsbury is one amongrenown supermarket of United Kingdom which belong to the retail industry. The report is basedon crisis communication, its different strategies which helps in developing and maintainingreputation of the organisation (Salma, 2018). At last, it discuses about process of crisiscommunication which is required to be opted by organisation so that they can protect reputationand image of company. TASK Crisis are termed as the various unwanted events which affect working environment ofthe company and may result in disturbance in working pattern of employees. It is essential forevery organization to protect their name from the crisis as it harms reputation and also disturbstrust of the customer that will directly impact negatively on the sales of company (Ulmer,Sellnow and Seeger, 2017). Crisis communication is considered as an effective way to deal withdifficult situation in organization in order to protect its reputation.Crisis Communication strategiesIt is essential for organization to opt proper strategies at the time of crisis as thesesituation can be converted into a largest hurdle for reputation of company (Six Strategies ForReacting To A Crisis Communications Situation, 2018). In relation to Sainsbury, there arevarious strategies which can be used by its the crisis communication team in order to secure theirname in bad phase or harmful situation. These strategies are described as below: Analyze the situation calmly: This strategy requires that senior management ofcompany should handle situation calmly in every step. It is required by manager to make surethat employees of the company should not respond to the negative comments on social or printmedia publicly. As it will raise negative influence of crisis and also harm reputation oforganization. In this situation, top management should evaluate the actual situation bycommunicating internal team of organization (Timothy Coombs and Jean Holladay, 2014). Afterthis, they can give justification to the media and customer on the behalf of company. 1
