PHILOSOPHY
1. Clearly specify which audios and videos you have chosen to write about.
The first video is from Michael Surgus talking about Adam’s Smith Wealth of Nations. The
second video is what the student experiences in school and what the society expects them to
perform. However, the first audio is about society problem which people do not want to speak
about, the second audio is from Denis Dalton speaking on theory of Carl Mark.
2. In your own words, discuss and critically analyze the major points in each of the audio and
video.
The first video from Michael concerning Wealth of Nations express ways in which nations can
accumulate a lot of wealth. It suggests that, division of labor the is the best way to make a
country wealthy. The video elaborates that after revolution, the idea of division of labor was the
best way people could work. The revolution brought the idea of technology and use of machines,
however, when dividing labor, the country should consider the market because they may produce
excess goods according to Hegel, (2015). The second video shows that the way schools come up
with the curriculum is not effective. They do not consider that student have different talents and
capability. Teachers continue comparing the students with other top performers.
On the other hand, the audio on Carl Marx elaborates how Marx suffered in poverty despite
being knowledgeable. Marx had three children, and the three children died because he did not
have money to take them to the hospital. Carl Marx was fighting for the world revolution
according to Pound & DeRosa, (2017). He argued that society is mean people fight for wealth
but do not consider different people’s situation. The idea of capitalism is what makes people
mean, and Mark wanted the nations to change to communism. The last audio shows how
community experiences challenges but people who are expected to speak do not speak. They

lock themselves in their houses. However, a man elaborates that its time for people to talk, they e
mad to the situation.
3. In your own words, give at least two detailed examples accompanied with detailed
explanations as to how they relate to society.
The first example in the society is the rise of street children. People are not willing to health the
children. In the audio of Carl Marx, he explains that capitalism have made people to fight for
their wealth but ignore the welfare of the whole society. The second example is the rise of
mistreatment in society. For instance, where rich people oppress the poor. Nobody is ready to
speak on the matter according to Robinson, (2017). Everyone fears victimization the way the
audio has elaborated.
4. In your own words, give at least two detailed examples accompanied with detailed
explanations as to how they relate to your personal life.
The video on academics relates to my life in that the school does not consider much the talent I
have in life. The teachers tell me of the list of people who have passed in academic matters
ignoring other several talented people who are making millions with their talents. Secondly, is
the situation I am facing the issue of mistreatment, but nobody in the society can assist in the
case. For example, I can meet corrupt people, but when I talk about it, no one is ready to support
my point because he or she fears victimization.
5. How, in your opinion, can the ideas discussed in the audios and videos be pragmatically and
realistically implemented in society?
