Executive summary of the report:
This project deals with the issues related with payment delays in the construction sectors in Australia.
This assessment helps to study all the problems related with the payments in the governmental
construction industries and study how the researchers have stated different solutions to mitigate those
problems. Related resources with the article are also cited in this report along with reflection on the

A. Provide the annotation
[2] This article states that construction delay is the most common delay that happens to many project
because of miscommunication that occurs between the contractors, the property owners as well as
other stakeholders who are included with the project.
[3] This research paper aims to find out the total percentage of the construction industries that have
cost overrun as well as the project have failed because of the payment related issues. The causes of
cost overrun and project failure is studied in this article.
[4] The article that is selected to carry out this research study included analysis of a primary study
carried out by some other author. The analysis was conducted with the participants who had
experience in the construction industries. The questionnaire method of data collection was used for
collecting data from different consultants, as well as contractors. The total number of participants
taken to carry out this research paper was 160.
[5] The data analysis that was carried out was useful because along with the construction project in
Australia different countries such as Ghana and Malaysia construction industries were taken in to
consideration. This research has carried out RIW (Relative Importance Weight) technique to rank the
critical factors in the study. The data analysis that has been taken is in this research paper was taken
from another published book written by Doloi (2013).
[6] The limitation of this research paper was that all secondary data was taken for this carrying out
the research paper. No survey was carried out for conducting its own study. Another limitation in this
research was only 100 participants were considered to carry out the research from the 168
participants who participated in the research.
[7] The research included three different case studies of different countries and the payment delays in
the construction industries were studied to find out the factors that affects the project payment delays.
There are many critical factors stated in the research paper that led to payment delay in the
construction industry.
[8] As discussed in the research paper this research paper details all the different research papers that
detailed all reasons of payment delay or cost overrun in construction projects. The payment

associated issues persists in construction industry and those related literatures is being carried out in
this research study.

the validity of the journal. The reference that are in texted in the journal are also provide din the
reference section of the research paper.
e. The research had been completed in Liverpool John Moores University which is a reputed
university in United Kingdom. The research had been carried out by Raj Kapur Shah who has carried
out the research for finding out the factors of payment issues in construction industry Australia.

For locating this article, I googled the topic name as payment related issues in construction
industries in Australia and after going through some of the articles and journals I have selected
this article to carry out this research. The search engine that I have used is google for finding this
document.
