Introduction
The planning of events takes a lot of responsibility that comes with planning the event ,
recruiting man power for the implementation of the plan, food and lodging arrangement and
management of crowd for protection against potential disasters of health risk. There are various
kinds of risks associated with different type of events. Crowd management is important to ensure
that the people attending the event would be managed effectively and safely. The overall
operation of the plan for the event is dependent on the management of large crowds (Franke
Lukowicz and Blanke 2015). An important part of crowd management is the adherence to
particular legislative norms regarding plan of action, management, building temporary structures,
safety precautions for performer or public figures making an appearance in the event, assessment
of risks and making sure that the man power employed are competent to hold the management.
Event management also requires management of the facilities of health and hygiene being
provided to the crowd who come to spectate the event. This paper will discuss the major events
managed like rugby game, conference, student union event, marathon, club in UK region.
Additionally, Trinity Talent, Paint festival and theatre fashion show in Qatar.
Rugby game crowd management
It is one of the most popular sporting events in the country of UK, and thousands of
people come to attend the event. Sometimes even from foreign countries if the event is
international. Therefore, it is very crucial that the risk prevention of the crown with respect to
identification, elimination as well as control of hazardous risks is very important.
In any kind of event management it is important to manage the site in which the event

crowd as per the schedule. Students’ union event basically involves meeting, few cultural

managing.

In cultural programme massive young crowd can gather and there will be a chance of
chaos. To avoid such incidents students union can divide the male and female accommodation by
establishing barricade. This will definitely decreases the chances of chaos. Another important
fact that can also be used is that student union can appoint some volunteer to observe over the
crowd. This can also help to manage the crowd.

Basically in conference arranged by the student union is always presented peacefully but
still managing crowd is important in every event. In conference they can facilitate the leaflet to
maintain the peace in the conference hall which is most important. Beside this volunteer
appointment will also be futile to avoid uncertain incidents (Wahlström, 2016).
Other different events are also supervised by the students union in college and university
such as annual sports, welcome ceremony of new students every year. Such events also need

is one of the major attractions there. The foot fall is huge and it is an important task to manage

Theatre is one of the important events in Qatar and they enjoyed it by heart but managing
crowd in theatre is also another important factor because in theatre several important and
renowned people came to attain it. Beside this celebrities are also sometimes performed in
theatre. So in such big branded event security management is the first issue to avoid the accident
as a part of the crowd management. Another fact that needs to consider is the checking before
entry.
Although, the ambience in the theatre is very much silence and psychedelic. Organiser
must need to maintain such ambience and for this they need to observe every time during the
event. Sometime people become crazy watching their favourite star in the stage and different
people reacted differently, some audience go for autograph, some requested for photo and so on
(Grant and Flynn, 2017). Organiser must need to manage such unwanted interfere during the
theatre and also after the completion of the show. For this they can take help of the security and
arrange such demand of the people in a sequential manner so that unwanted incidents can be
avoided.
Fashion Show
This form of event usually consist of high profile business investors, media officials,
media celebrities, fashion designers and most importantly models who are the main attraction of
the event. The selection of the venue in these types of events is generally very exclusive, so
maintenance of strict security is crucial. These kinds of events are base on “invite-only” events
which needs to be followed by the security officials. The site inspection is also very important to
