You are the nurse who is looking after Mr. Hadi this morning. At about 9am you heard a call bell ringing
from his room. When you entered the room, Hadi complained that he was having a bad headache. Hadi
said that he just had a shower and started to have headache. He wanted to have some medication to stop
the pain.
You have obtained the following information through handover this morning:
Patient’s details and history:
- Name: Hadi Muhamad
- Age 82, Male
- Admitted 1/7 day ago for Right (Rt) Total Knee Replacement (TKR)
- Past medical history: hypertension, IHD, type 2 DM, bilateral hard of hearing (Patient always forget
to use his hearing aids)
- Allergies: NKA
- Social history: lives at home with partner, ADLs independent with 2 wheeled walking frame; 2 adult
children; Non-smoker and social drinker. Patient migrated to Australia 5 years ago from Iran.
- Patient has slept well throughout the night, nil issue overnight.
- Medications written on patient’s medication chart as showing below:
