Cruises Ship Industry
These are the big and huge passenger ships which are mainly used by people to go on
vacations around the world. These ships are used to carry passengers on tours or voyages. These
types of tours or voyages are called as "Shore Excursions". These cruise ships used to take about
two-to-three- nights round voyage or trips and without going to any of the ports of call (Chua, et
al., 2015). Nowadays, many of these modern cruise ships are removing some of its qualities of
seakeeping. It has also added facilities to serve to the tourists along with providing them
"Balcony-laden floating condominiums." Nowadays Cruising is becoming an important part of
the tourism industry. The total market of around $29.4 billion is calculated per year of cruise
industries and carrying more than 19 million passengers worldwide as per the report of 2011.
The rapid growth of these industries can be seen every year building about nine or more newly
built ships since 2001 (Maragkogianni and Papaefthimiou, 2015).
A rapid growth in the Australian cruising sector can be seen with the new assessment of
the economic value of the industry. Passengers are easily ready to spend around $1.2 billion
when they came for travelling and the cruise company is ready to spend around $710m for the
stay facilities to the passengers like by catering them drinks, port charges, fuel and other many
more amenities. Australia’s love for Cruise ships is increasing at rapid growth. Every year it has
been concluded that Australians are ready to spend more time in ashore visiting and sailing in
local waters by these cruise ships during their holidays (Ziolkowski, 2014). It is a good thing for
the economic benefits for the ship industry businesses and communities.
One of the most appealing cruise destinations of the world is Australia and in the whole
world, there are a greater number of this Australian cruise. Cruise shipping is one of the essential
parts of the tourism which improves the tourism planning. For Australian tourists, cruising is
becoming popular with the continuous growth in the number of passengers year after year and it
is expected to be continuously grown like this (Thomas and Stockl, 2015).
The world’s largest cruising industry is Carnival Australia and is focusing on taking
more than one million Australian passengers on a cruise holiday by 2020. All the cruising
operators are very active in Australia. The fastest-growing cruising markets in the world is in
Australia. Due to the increase cruise scene in Australia, it is becoming a magnet for a huge range

of cruise ships around the whole world (Dwyer, 2003). The best ship amenities of the cruise
include Skydiving, sea-gazing, slides, ice-bars and snow rooms, escape rooms etc.
