INTRODUCTION
Cruise tourism can be defined as a luxurious form of travelling. Holidays and
celebrations are done on a cruise ship (MacNeill and Wozniak, 2018). A ship
is booked for parties and tourism. It is holiday on cruise ship for atleast 48
hours that has several benefits such as safely, cost saving and convenient.
Ship is taken on the sea on different purpose according to the plan of
booking. Tourism on the ship iss expensive and it shows the living standards
of the person. This report will develop the informal poster of the cruise
tourism and will discuss about the key providers, activities, subtypes and
leakage effects of the cruise tourism. This report will also shed light on the
future trends and swot analysis of the cruise trends.
DESTINATIONS/ ACTIVITIES/ SUB-TYPES
Cruise tourism services are provided in different types for
different purpose such as Ocean cruising liner tend to be big and
carry thousands of passengers. They often provide many services
like children's programs and activities. Ocean cruising has services
like late night entertainment, 24 hour dining, shopping and days
spent travelling through endless seascapes.
River cruising generally include small ships with fewer
passengers and services are also provided limited in comparison of
ocean cruising. Meals have timing, and people are unlikely to get
extensive entertainment options and access to the swimming pool.
Single or solo cruising is little different from the other cruising
services. There are several options available like some cruise liners
offer single occupied cabins in the ship, and some facilitate cruise
groups for solo travellers( Paiano, Crovella. and Lagioia, 2020.)
Family Cruises or Friendly cruises offers programs and kid's
club that keeps kids entertained. Services are provided keeping in
the view of kids and elders. Family cruises services are generally
simple and well serviced for the every member of the family
(Cerić, 2018.).
Luxury Cruises offer VIP services that include more refined
food dining and better locations. Premium services are provided in
luxury cruising and focus of such cruise liners are the satisfaction
and premium services.
Destination refers to the place where the cruise line is providing
services or the areas where ships are taking the tourism.
Destinations of most cruise ships in the United Kingdom are
Southampton and Portland.
CONCLUSION
From the above informational poster it can be concluded that
cruise tourism has been contributing the economy of United
kingdom. It is the fastest growing industry in the tourism
sector. Impact of the cruise tourism on the economy is great
as cruise sectors constitutes one of the fastest growing sectors
of the tourism industries as it contributes substantially to
local, regional and national economies. Customer profile is
used to serve better as it has basic details about the customers
and lead to the customer satisfaction. New destinations,
healthy menu, social media trends and women centred trips
are the future trends of the cruise tourism.

Many organisations provide facility of cruise tourism in the United Kingdom. Additional services
are also provided by Cruise lines such as Free drinks, Wi-Fi and tips. While some service
providers add functions and celebrity guest appearance and much more. These key providers let
the people enjoy their trip on the sea and to have a beautiful experience of the Cruise tourism
(Vega-Muñoz and et.al., 2020). Generally, 15 days of tourism services is provided by the
organisations. Although some companies have more and fewer days of services according to the
customer choice. Ships for tourism have restaurants, spa centre, fitness centre, swimming pools
services for the customers (Hay, 2021). Cruise tourism is one of the most important growth
sectors in the tourism market.

Virgin Voyages – Portsmouth to the English south cost. Its headquarter is in Florida.
Company is redefining luxury ship by combining premium elements in the cruise.

Fres Olsen – Liverpool to Scotland. It is UK based, Norgewein-owned cruise shipping
company that believes that small ships bring big benefits.

P&O Cruises – Southampton to Dorset, Devon and Cornwall. It is a fleet off 7ships. P&O
cruises is considered as Britain’s favourite cruise line. It provides hundred of must see

Customer profile refers to the act of describing customer
using demographics, psycho-graphics and buying pattern
of the customer. Customer profile in cruise sector plays an
important role as it help the business to understand the
behaviour of the customer and marketing strategies can be
created with the help of customer profile. Satisfaction of
the consumer is the main goal of the cruise industry as
satisfied customers are the main reason for the growth off
the cruise line company (He and et.al., 2019). Customer
profiles are used by the cruise sectors to improve the
quality of service. Customer profile is created to
understand the experience of the customer and the need
and desire of the customer (Sundararaj and Rejeesh, 2021.
These understanding helps the company to develop better
service for that particular customer. The ocean Medallion

Cruise tourism sector is growing day by day as people are intend to
make trip around the sea. It is most dynamically developing,
unique and popular business sector. The cruise industries generated
€10.4bn to the economy of the United Kingdom in the year 2017.
This success in the cruise tourism industries lead to the launch of
24 new ships in 2019 (Bond, 2018).
Factors influencing the cruise tourism industries are the
number of visitors, expenditure, trip purpose and multipliers.
Cruise industries offer several benefits to social and economic
development that include positive impact on the foreign exchange
earning, tax, employment and externalities. Cruise industries also
have negative impact as it leads to the increase in the land and
housing prises, high tax and inflation level. Cruise industries are
growing rapidly and the people are enjoying cruise tours. This
shows the impact of the cruise industries on the people and the
economy. Covid-19 caused a huge impact on the cruise industries
as the risk of job or staff loss during the pandemic was very high.
United Kingdom lead to loss of £2.37bn, 13,788 jobs and £746m in
wages (Impact of COVID-19 on the global cruise industries. 2020).
Cruise tourism encourages the growth in the primary and
secondary sectors of industry. The multiplier effect of the cruise
industries refers to the effect on the other sectors on the new cruise
line set up that include create jobs directly in cruise, local business
supply services, effect on the other companies attracted to the area
and the workers spend their income in the local area that lead to the
increase in the tax revenue (Mehrotra, and Menon, 2021). More
jobs are also created indirectly. Multiplier effect also include the
taxes spent on improving infrastructure, image and tourist service.
It leads to the area being popular tourist destination, increased
profitability and revenue for reinvestment (Covid and et.al., 2020).
Leakage effects refers to the money lost during the multiplier
effect of the cruise industry such as loss of money outside the
economy generated by cruise tourism.

Amazing new destinations are going to be discovered
by the cruise lines that will have the greater customer
interactions. Cruise lines are looking ahead for
searching new destinations so that customer can have

on the healthy food as customer have to bring
healthy food on the tours so cruise industries are
developing the menu and it will result in better and
healthier future of the cruise tourism industries.
Social media has very great impact on the cruise
tourism. People are exited to go on a destiny which
was once appeared on their social media feed.
Instagram's trends are encouraging the cruise tourism
(Pan, and et.al., 2021). It will lead to the increase of
the cruise tourist in the future. Women centred trips
are going to be risen as women are making more
money than ever before and enjoying it. Travelling
among the women are increasing day by day and the
cruise tourism is also a part of it. Solo women cruise
tourism is getting popular these days.
