INTRODUCTION Corporate Social Responsibility or CSR refers to a management concept whereby organisations incorporate environmental and social concerns in their operations and interactions of the business with their different stakeholders such as employees, customers governments and many more. By practicing CSR, the organisations can be intended of the kind of influence they arehavingonallconsiderationsofthesociety,encompassingsocial,economicand environmental(Park and Kim, 2019). The company which is chosen for this assignment is Verdant Leisure.It is a tailored holiday park operator in UK. It provides services such as caravan holidays and self-catering lodge and holiday home ownership throughout Scotland, Devon and Northern England. It is a medium-sized organisation. These sort of organisation refers to that type of business which maintains revenues, number of employees and assets below a specific threshold. It plays an important role in the development of economy and hiring vast number of employees and supporting to shape the innovation. The discussion in this essay is based upon the analysation and exploration of extent of CSR practices and how these practices can influence management and sustainable practices. MAIN BODY In present times, organisations are judged on the basis of decisions they are taking about their treatment of customers and employees and their influences on the social issues. Issues such as equality, diversity, climate change and social justice become concerns that are integrated into the organisational tactics and brand identity as decision makers try to build a positive influence. Corporate Social Responsibility has become the fundamental part for the organisations as consumer's have started to find such businesses that have a significant influence on the social and environment issues affecting them. In a world, where customers can easily raise their voice against organisation through social media platforms and peer to peer platforms, keeping CSR has become critical to an organisational success(van Dick and et.al., 2020).As the CSR means the concept that an organisation has the accountability of conducting business in a right way. An organisation should self-regulate its actions and be socially responsible to its stakeholders, customers and the public at large. In case of Verdant Leisure, there are four types of CSR. Environmentalresponsibility,itisfundamentalforthebusinessestoengage themselves in the eco-friendly or environmental friendly practices. Businesses can be valuable
contributorstopollution,greenhousegasemissions,wastesandsoon,butbymaking commitment to environment responsibility, an organisation takes the ownership over its affect on the surroundings.Ethical responsibility, it means that organisation performs their activities in fair manner, encompassing treating all stakeholders, employees and customers in an ethical way and with respect. In case of Verdant Leisure, it can be minimum wages to the employees, ensuring that employees and workers receive competitive pay and benefits and treated with respect and guaranteeing all materials and equipment are sourced ethically(Portney, 2020). Philanthropic responsibility,this refers to the giving back to the societies in which organisation operate their business and donate to causes that matches with the mission of the company. In this, organisation donating a percentage of the yearly earnings to the big cause.Economic Responsibility,when business is performing activities with economic responsibility in mind, it is making decisions related with funds that prioritise doing good, not just to make money for the business. Hence, this reflects that this kind of CSR is interwind with the other kinds discussed above. In case of Verdant Leisure, it could be an act of dealing with such suppliers that exploits sustainable materials even if it costs higher. Also, creating a transparent salary system comes under this category. It is analysed that when an organisation performs and commits to socially responsible, it delivers a positive impact on the employees satisfaction and retention. It is also beneficial for the brand identity as CSR initiatives supports reinforce public respect and customer trust as well. With every sustainability approach practices, Verdant Leisure committed to fair pay and treating employees in a fair way(Randle, Kemperman and Dolnicar, , 2019).It generates more positivity into the world. It is found that the chosen company is committed to promoting sustainable tourism and safeguarding and improving the natural surroundings. They aimed to limit the negative impact on the surroundings. All of their parks are members of theGreen Tourism Scheme.It also attained Bronze award for their initiatives. Moreover, they also encourage reuse and reduction of materials and promotes visitors and company's owner to recycle. While the aim of CSR is pushing companies to act responsibly and ethically towards the society and environment. There are few drawbacks to it. Engaging in CSR initiatives is not always inexpensive or cheap, rather it may rely on costly structures and tactics to plan,implement and measure. Additionally, a poorly planned CSR tactic that does not provide what it aims it can damage the name of the brand and increases liabilities as well(Modakand Kelle, 2021). The
