Thetourism sector is related to the travel that is conducted by the citizens for the purpose ofgaining pleasure. The different activities are related to providing all types facilities to thetourists and to the foreign citizens. Wellness tourism is related to the travel that iscommenced so that well-being and health can be promoted. Wellness tourism is a boomingindustry in Thailand and the tourists try to get benefits related to location-based therapies orexperiences. Many different services are provided by the wellness centres in Thailand and thereport is based on the analysis of this industry. The positive and negative sides of the industryare analysed and recommendations are made so that the issues can be resolved.

CURRENT ISSUES AFFECTING TOURISM AND HOSPITALITY31.IntroductionHospitality is a wide category of different fields that are related to the service businesswhich further includes event planning, theme parks, lodging, cruise line and transportation.This industry is worth multi-million dollars and it is mainly dependent on the leisure time ofthe people and their disposable income as well. The main aim of the hospitality industry is totake care of the customers and providing them the best of services. The constant expansion ofhospitality industry promotes the growth in the multicultural changing environment (deGrosbois 2016).Tourism industry is related to the business of travelling for pleasure and it alsoincludes other activities such as, accommodating, attracting and entertaining the tourists. Thebusiness can be global or domestic in nature and the international business of tourism isaffected by the payment balance of the countries. Tourism acts as a major income source fornumerous countries and this has an immense effect on the economies of both the countriesincluding the source and the host countries (Kim, Vogt and Knutson 2015).Wellness tourism is related to the travel that is undertaken for promoting well-beingand health with the help of psychological, physical or spiritual activities. Wellness tourism ismainly linked to medical tourism related to health interests so that the traveller can bemotivated. The wellness tourists are mainly proactive while maintaining and improvingquality of life and health (Goodall and Ashworth 2013). Wellness tourists are high-yielding innature and they tend to spend around 130 percent greater than the average tourists. Therevenues that are earned from the wellness tourists is much more as compared to the averagetourists. Wellness tourism is hence considered to be a booming industry and is gainingpopularity all over the world (Legrand, Sloan and Chen 2016).
