INTRODUCTION
Data communication can be referred as a transmission of the digital data between two or
more computers. Data network is a telecommunication network that allows devices to exchange
the data with each computer. Networking is a digital way of communications which allows nodes
to share resources. These network links may be established through wired or wireless media.
This study will be based on My Network (MNC) company and this study will help in producing
a complete networking architecture within the company. The report will help in establishing a
LAN topology which connects the systems within five floored building. IP Address of each
workstation and host are also explored below.
MAIN BODY
LAN Design
A Local area network is a group of components and associated devices which shares a
common communication line via wired or wireless medium. So MNC company consists of four
different department such as Administration, marketing, Human resource, sales (Chen and
et .al., 2018). So the company want to establish a effective networking design for the MNC
company in order to share the data and information as well as access of the internet access which
provides the mail access within the company.
A network topology is the arrangement of establishing the connection between computer
system and network devices. This arrangement may define the physical as well as logical aspect
of the network. So Hybrid combination of these topologies is used in the MNC company in order
to share the data and communication (Maggenti and Vassilovski, Qualcomm, 2018). This type of
topology helps in fault detection and it is most reliable and scalable which allows the company to
easily increase the size of the network by adding new components without disturbing existing
architecture.

The networking design of the MNC company includes 21 workstations and such
workstations. So according to the network design of the company, each department consists of
the one server and a centralised server which controls all the information flow within the
company. Also, each department within the MNC company consists of 5 workstations each and
all theses 20 workstations are further connected with the centralised workstation of the company.
This centralised workstation or server allows the company to store and update the overall
company's information in order to determine the actual performance of the firm (Shribman and
Vilenski, Hola Newco, 2018). This is a common workstation for all the departments within the
company and this system consists of overall information transmitted from each workstation
placed with a particular department. The network design developed within the company consists
of the Hybrid topology and this topology allows data flow within administration department
which is processed via five workstations which are placed to process the data within individual
department. So administration, Human resource, marketing and sales department are connected
with each other via Local area network so that the data and information derived from the

individual department can be stored and updated for the further use. As all the functions of the
organization are generally inter related with other. Although, the result of the data obtained from
one department can be treated as a input for another department. So it is very important to
establish a effective and efficient connectivity within each department. In order to connect the
computer systems and devices of individual floor Hybrid typology is used because it allows the
independent operations of one system which cannot be dependent on other. Also, further all these
systems are connected with a common workstation server which stores the information coming
from all the departments (Shen and et.al., 2018). So this is how the effective and efficient
networking design of the company which includes the Five floor MNC networking architecture.
Internet Protocol (IP) address is a numerical label which is assigned to the devices in
order to connect the devices. IP address mainly serves two principle functions such as host or
network Interface identification and location addressing. One among them helps in identifying
the network and another helps in identifying the host or node which are connected within a
similar networking architecture (Sadiku, M.N., 2018). So IP address are further categorised into
various classes ensures the assignment of the unique host number to identify a particular device.
Individual computer system or a communication device an be identified by its unique IP address
and thus this makes it easy for the device to establish a strong connectivity with different
workstations and clients. This IP address is made up of 32 binary bits which is divided into
network and a host portion with the help of a subnet mask. The default subnet mask for the class
A is 255.0.0, for class B is 255.255.0.0 and for Class C is 255.255.255.0 which signify a network
without subnets. The subnet mask chart for the MNC company is described below:

Hardware Description
The installation of routers, modem and other hardware and software are needed to make
these data communication which helps in determining the layout of cables and other components
for those network system (Biswas, Das and Chatterjee, 2018). Networking architecture may also

consists of upgraded existing system. Minimum hardware requirements for the installation of the
network server suite are as follow:
* Enterprise server install: minimum 4 GB available dis space, 2 GB RAM
* Minimum 1.4 GHZ processor speed which is recommended as 2.0 GHZ processor for
MNC.
* Client installation for the client which needed to be atleast 1 available disc space.
* Static IP address for device in which Enterprise Console Server is installed.
* Microsoft XML 4.0 service pack 3 (LAN Networking design, 2017).
* Microsoft SQL server 2008
CONCLUSION
From the above study it can be concluded that, networking and data communication helps
in enhancing the overall business performance. The report has provides a LAN architecture for
the MNC. Along with this, the study has created a significant information about the topology
which allows the MNC to arrange new devices and computer networks within each department
in the form of hybrid combination.
In addition to this, various Modems, routers and switches are also established in order to
transfer the data from one source to another effectively. The document has also explored various
hardware requirements that helps in establishing a complex networking architecture within the
organization.
