Task 1: Develop an organization chart
The business of Diamond video rentals is owned by John Vandrine. The organization
contains around 5000 members and 10,000 videos in stock. The organization have six permanent
staff and around six casual staff. The two most experienced supervisors of the organization are
Deb Papadopoulos and Dawn Schultz. They are among the permanent staff and focuses entirely
on supervising the running of the store. They work alternatively managing the whole shift so that
they can provide better customer services.
Danny Jones, Paul Trang, Mae Willis and Terry De Santo are also permanent staffs.
Their main motive is to prepare the roster for each shift so that they can organize the staffs. On
the other hand Ted Sloan is responsible for accounting and purchasing functions. Mary Johnson
focuses on preparing the rosters and payroll for the staffs. Each member plays a crucial role
within the organization and thus it becomes essential to understand their importance. Accounting
functions are mainly carried out with the help of accounting software package and other
functions are carried out manually. Deb and Dawn work mainly at the counter, handling rentals,
bookings and over dues

Task 2: Determine Client requirements
The major requirements of the new office includes 1 office assistant or customer service
clerk for managing the external activities, 1 manager and 6 sales staff for managing the sales
related activities. In addition the new setup will also include installation of LAN for new office.
The main aim is to ensure that each client is provided with proper support so that they can
achieve better services. In order to meet the client needs the organization has decided to review
the initial budget and the timing for implementing the new ideas. The organization will also
implement an effective hardware setup that can accommodate the needs and will ensure that the
functionality is being enhanced with the implementation of new system. The manager has
requested for implementing Microsoft windows XP professional within the workstation
operating system this will ensure better way of executing the activities. In addition to this the
workstations will be installed with Microsoft office XP and anti-virus for enhancing the services
provided towards the customer. The office will be installed with proper accounting software for
providing better and reliable facilities. The network will include share folders and resources and
will ensure that the internet connection is being successfully shared among the users. Beside this
it becomes essential to develop a system that will be able to meet the basic needs of each
customer. The document will hold the details regarding the number of new users that are going
to interact with the system, the need of proper printing functions and file sharing function.
