1 DATABASE SYSTEMS Part A: Database research After a decent amount of research, it has been found that data and database have an eventful history. The concept came into being even before the first computers have been developed. The recording and data storage procedures were performed before the digital concept came into existence. The technologies that would be able to store the data were pretty limited and the storing data used to be very difficult task and it involved a lot of procedures to be performed before data can be stored and manipulated easily. By the year 2003 the digitations have developed gradually and a concept of data storage was developed eventually. The storing of data had into bits had already been started and concepts for the development of data storage systems had started. The concepts to be used for the development of the data storage facility had evolved gradually during this period of time. In year 2007 the relationships among the data were conceptualized and different type of database management systems were developed. The following decade the NoSQL concepts had been developed and the storage of large amount of datasets were performed very easily with these concepts. The data storing was further enhanced and 3 tiers for the storage of database management system was done. The internal data structures were not revealed to the users only the logical view was made available. The users would be able to perform only the manipulations of data and not the definition of data.
