2DECISION ANALYSIS
Introduction
The assignment deals with the identification of the individual decision preferences and
determination of the various ways of being flexible and use of one of my styles. The study also
emphasises on reflecting upon the decisions and completing the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator
(MBTI) which will help in the identification of both the shadow side and the primary side of the
decision making style, also the study will include the developmental and the self-improvement
opportunities.
Body
Identification of own decision preferences
Intuition- high value.
Logic- med value
Balance- high value
The intuition score says that I place a great deal of trust on my intuition when I am analysing
problems and making decisions (appendix 1)
The logic score says that I generally prefer to make use of my logical thinking when I am
analysing problems and making decisions (appendix 2).
Balance score says that I tend to have a strong interest in the implications of my decisions on
others (appendix 3).
The scores have highlighted that I have high scores in both the intuition and balance tests.
While I scored medium in the logic test. Thus in order to equally score high in all the three tests I
need to emphasize on my analysing capability of my problems and in making proper decisions.

3DECISION ANALYSIS
Thus, I need to learn to analyse problems precisely and clearly (Laureate-au.blackboard.com,
2018).
Keep a decision diary
Daily decision diary will include my personal daily experiences. On a daily basis I face
difficulties in decision making and properly analysing before taking decisions.
I lack the proper decision making skills and this is the reason I am emphasizing on the
proper analysis before considering any decision. majority of the scenarios, it has been seen that I
am unable to process lot of information at the same time unable to analyse a situation as per the
demand of the situation. I have seen that the decisions that I take often do not fit the environment
and they are not able to properly lead to any definite conclusion.
Identify own type and shadow side
The test taken from the 16 personalities, it has been noticed that I am an introverted,
intuitive, thinking, judging and turbulent person. The letters that conform to this test is INTJ.
Being an introvert will definitely impact my interpersonal and communication styles. While I
possess the intuitive, thinking and judging nature and this will help me in my decision making
preferences and information processing. While I feel that there is a place for disappointment and
possibly I disagree with the result because it has shown me to be a turbulent person, whereas I
am assertive person with a forceful personality (16personalities.com, 2018).
The letters that conform to the shadow side is ESFP. Thus, the shadow side in me that
needs more emphasis is that I am extraverted to about 36%, observant 42%, feeling 40%,
prospecting 47% and assertive 49% (appendix 4).

4DECISION ANALYSIS
In am an intuitive, thinking, judging person and that is why my thinking style is more
logical and structured. The interpersonal behaviour gets affected because I am an introvert and
exhibit a turbulent nature. While the shadow type highlights that I need to focus on self-
development actions like getting help from a mentor to increase introversion into an
extraversion.
Participate in a mentoring feedback session
Working with a partner which is provided by my university, I underwent with the task of
answering the underlying questions as discussed in the requirements.
1. the three decision modes emphasize on the consequential choice, matching and reassessment.
While I consider that the whenever I have two different choices of decision, I will definitely go
with the one that has the better outcome. Secondly, I will ensure that if in a given situation, a
process or step if not working then I will consider one alternative at a time. Thirdly, if I have
committed to a particular decision at a time, then there is a chance that I will reassess the
decision that I have taken previously (Sv.uio.no, 2018).
2. the decision that I have entered in the daily diary is to be regular, disciplined, manage time
properly, focus and emphasize on self-development. The decision style that I will be using is the
analytical decision making style and it will employ the analysis of data that I will having in my
hand. The decision making preferences will be based on the one with the best outcome.
3. The preferred ways of thinking is the analytical thinking and the less preferred way is thinking
based on imaginative and speculative. In order to build on the strengths and overcome
weaknesses, it is important to note that I will be using the analytical approach of thinking and
decision making in order to overcome the issues (Popovič et al., 2012).

5DECISION ANALYSIS
Conclusion
From the above study it can be concluded that I have been able to gain an insight in to
myself and I have been able to analyse myself properly. The tests that I have taken have directly
impacted me in making decision and taking note of the various skills that is necessary to become
proper person. I have been able to precisely pin point the major weaknesses that I possess and at
the same time I have the capability to now see the reason why I fail in taking vital decisions.
Recommendations
Self-development is a perfect option when nulling the various faults is the foremost
priority. I have been facing issues with the inability to properly analyse a problem, make
decisions that are vital from my standpoint and at the same time I have been unable to view vital
aspects of my life (Johnson, 2015). Thus, I feel self-development can best be achieved by having
a mentor that will guide my forwards steps and help in analysing my faults. Secondly, I can enrol
myself in to classes that will teach me the problem solving skills. While studying self-
development books is the best way to gain a lot of knowledge on self-development (appendix 5)
(McLean, 2013).
