Benefits of using determinants approach in health promotion.
The health determinants are the factors which affect and influence upon the lives of the
individuals and the determinants of health promotion aims at providing the following benefits.
Improving the status of health of the society, and thee families and the communities.
Improving the quality of life of the society.
Reducing the premature deaths in the society.
The determinants of health which are social, psychological, economic, behavioral and
environmental, help in the restoration of health of the society as a whole and in reducing
the health related costs. It ensures medical facilities, and medical insurances to all the
members of the society thus aiming at the betterment of the health of the individuals
(Cairns et al. 2014).

Nominated Determinants.
The health determinant that has been chosen for the discussion is the aspects of alcohol misuse in
young people. It is observed that among the current young generation there is a misuse of alcohol
behaviour. There is a rampant practice of consumption of alcohol among the young population of
the country which has further led to certain other health related implications among the young
people. One of the major determinant is the factors of marketing of the alcohol (Scholes-Balog et
al. 2014). The mainstream media of the country purposively and effectively takes a role in the
advertising and in the promotion of the alcohol consumption, and the way these advertisements
