Question 1 List one piece of legislation, one regulation and one code of practice that relate
to environmental issues in this workplace. Explain the compliance requirements of each (50 –
80 words for each).
Answer:
Piece of legislation
Environment protection and biodiversity conservation act 1999: it is that piece of
legislation which is passed by the Australian government centre environment this act was
passed by the government where it provide a legal framework to protect and manage
nationality this act was passed by the government where it provides a legal framework to
protect and manage nationality and international importance of flora, fauna, ecological
community and heritage places in national and international level for national environmental
significance. This have various inner part which are related to conservation of Australian
biodiversity protect biodiversity internationally by controlling the international movements of
wildlife and providing a steam line environment assessment.
Regulation
EPBC act: it is a regulation formed by the Australian nation for protecting the
environment where it includes the eight matters of national environment significance. These
are world heritage properties, national heritage places, wetland of international importance
which are listed under Ramsar convention, migratory species protected under international
agreements, list of threatened species and ecological communities, commonwealth marine
areas, The Great barrier reef marine park and nuclear reaction including uranium mines.
Code of practice
Code of practice for aquifer storage and recovery: the main purpose of this is for
aquifer storage and recovery where only and is not intended for disposal of from water
without pre-treatment monitoring and recovery. ASR is storage of water in well during the
time when water is available and recovery of the same water from the well during the time
when it is needed. This is scheme is covered under the environment protection act which
concerned with the quality of water stored and recovered in section 25 of imposes the journal
environment duty.

Answer:
Pompoms hotel adopted a proper policy which helps various stakeholders as well as
employees. This also protects the environment and reduces the wastage within the
environment but still there is some scope of improvement within this policy.
Here, organisation can adopt more flexible policy where it can easily manage the
waste as well as increase the contribution of employees within waste management by
facilitating them a proper training and development program.

Answer: The three practices for better environment sustainability by the help of organisation.
1. Increase the employees of the organisation to use public transport for reducing the
emission of co2 in environment.
2. Change to ecofriendly office lighting by changing it with solar energy.
3. Switch to post consumer wastage paper, products and packaging by establishing a
proper recycling system within the organisation and use 45% less energy.

Describe how you could measure and document current resource usage for the following at
Pompoms Hotel.
Paper
Energy such as electricity
Transportation
Wastage.
Answer: Pompoms hotel doesn't use papers and its functioning as it uses digital means where
it can reduce the pollution within the environment. For electricity the hotel uses solar energy
system which provides a renewable energy as well as reduces the emission of harmful gases
within environment. For transportation company prefer to use public transport where the
admission of gases as well as use of petrol can be minimised. Hotel also focuses on electric
cars which is also renewable source of energy. For wastage use a proper waste management
system which help the organisation in management of the waste and using the wastage within
the environment.
Question 6. Describe the approach you would take as manager to communicate the changes,
including assigned responsibilities, proposed outcomes and activities to both your team and
senior management (50 – 70 words).
Answer:
1. Being clear and honest when communicating the changes within the policies to the
employees.
2. Use care when communicating the organisation changes related to different resources
and management.
3. Setting the expectation which change management of communication.
4. Use the transformational leadership where the changes can be communicated and
target can be made it according to the change management communication.
