INTRODUCTION
Knowledge, skill and abilities of a person helps in improving the performance of the team
as well as organisations. Training and development is defines as the field which is concerned
with organisational activity which helps in developing the knowledge skill and abilities of the
employee with the aim of increasing the overall performance of the enterprise (De Mauro and
et.al., 2018.). Report will present the knowledge, skill and behaviour of a person required by the
HR professionals. It also evaluates the factors which considers while implementing and
evaluating the learning and development to drive a sustainable business performance.
Assignment also evaluates the various ways in which performance management, collaborative
working and effective communication can support high performance culture and commitment.
SECTION 1: PORTFOLIO AND A BRIEFING PAPER
a) Knowledge, skill and attributes required to carry out as a role of HR adviser
As a Human resource adviser in the High-town Housing association I need various skill,
knowledge and attributes for improving the overall performance of the firm. Human resource is
defining as important field of the enterprise which organized the individual who are interested in
accomplishing the organizational goal. Human resource adviser plays an important role in
accomplishing the different activities in the organization.
Organizing: It is an important role of a human resource adviser to organize all the functions of
the organization. HR adviser has various skills such as better time management skill and ability
to complete different tasks effectively. With the help of this skill HR adviser helps in reducing
the personal issues and develops the recruitment strategies for filling the vacant position.
Position. HR adviser also manage deadlines and accomplishing the organisational task quickly
which helps in meeting the needs of both employer and employee (Bailey,Mankin and Garavan,
2018).
Effective Communication: It is an important skill of the HR adviser which facilitated the
communication between employee and management. Both oral and written communication skills
need to be sharp so that HR adviser can relay information clearly and effectively to employees at
all level of high-town housing association. When conflict arise between employees, human
resource adviser able to compromise between both the group and find out the middle decision
which are benefited to both the parties through better communication skill.

Expert knowledge: As a Human resource adviser of the Home-town housing association, must
have the appropriate knowledge of the company’s rules, regulation and policies which helps in
making recruitment and hiring decision and also have the clear idea about the companies work
and the structure if the business process.
Multi-tasking: human resource adviser plays multi-tasking role in the company such as
managing job advertisement, compensations, interviews and the ability to manage time
effectively and multi task are a significant part of the organisational performance. HR adviser
has to work under the pressure of the management as well as group of employees and through
multi-tasking ability they can manage effectively both the parties and helps in achieving the
business objective of the firm (Lejeune, Beausaert and Raemdonck, 2018).
Knowledge-
Knowledge refers to understanding of different areas that is required for effective performance
of Human resource advisor functions and roles. They must have the knowledge of all the aspects
of the industry in which they have to perform their job roles. Human resource advisor of high
town housing must have the knowledge of issues related with employee and employer
relationship. They should have the understanding of different laws and regulations such as law
related with policy related with human resource of the organization etc.
Skills-
Human resource advisor should have different types of skills for performing various roles in an
effective and efficient manner. Human resource advisor of high town housing should have good
communication skills, must have experience of working in HR environment, skills of working
with HR system etc.
Attributes-
Human resource advisor must have different attributes and qualities for performing the duties
effectively. Human resource advisor of high town housing should possess excellent
communication skills for attending various meetings, to collaborate with other agencies etc. They
must be trustworthy. Human resource advisor should have skills of developing various policies
etc.
