INTRODUCTION Performance management is a broader and wider concept which is needed to be understood in proper manner. In an enterprise, it is important to examine & analyse performance as well as progress level of employees & employer. Hamley’s, a largest retailer headquartered in U.K. Company is located and globally has many functions & operations. This report comprises of performance management & approaches of performance management used by entity in organisation. TASK 4 P6 Discuss different approaches to performance management Performance management is important for performing different activities in business organisation. The management in focuses on measuring the actual performance of and actual performance in order to take appropriate decisions in which period of time to show their various approaches which is adopted by the management team of expensive that is in handling performance level of subordinate that are given below- Comparativeapproach-Inthisapproach,itisfocusedonmeasuringthe performance of employees in particular phase of time period. In this process the comparison is performed in context of intensity related to performance. For this administration of Hamleys can adapt graphic rating force distribution and many more that help in measuring performance level of subordinate. HR manager of firm make assure that comparison is being done in such a way that other sugar in IT moral and does not get affected or decreased because of appraising of others. Attribute- It is a process approach is helpful in data mining various attributes like problem solving team work as well as Innovation and many more. These attributes are determined by adapting mixed rating scale. It helps subordinate in using a necessary measure in order to increase the performance level in particular time interval.This approach of examining performance management is also an effective method which is being used by company for a longer period of time. It helps them to determine subordinates who have the ability to engage with others, positive mind innovative thinking as well as shows empathy to colleagues(Carstairs, 2018). Behavioural approach– In relevance with selected entity they can use behaviourally anchored rating scale that helps in measuring different dimension related to job of law of subordinate. The frequency in respect of behaviour of subordinate in context of performance isassessed.Resultapproachthemanagementteamfocusesongivingtrainingtoits employees according to their performance through which they can use different method that help in providing training that increases the knowledge and skill of present future period of time. This approach helps in increasing level of productivity of employees and their reviews are taken into consideration (Joel-Edgar, 2018). After brief analysis of ever paragraph it has been examined that it is important to focus on performance management so that it become easy to analyse individual performance within a business environment. It is also stated that manager can use approaches such as
comparative, attribute and many more depending upon which decision making process can be carried out.Analysing performance of individual is essential because strong and weak areas are determined which are then improved throat training a development programs. Also, in corporate world, through performance management employeesare promoted to higher position depending upon the level of progress achieved by them within a period of time.
