INTRODUCTION
Leadership and management are the two most important tools which helps the company
to achieve success. When these tools are utilised effectively it will help the company to
achieve their goals in a more productive manner (Bittar Rodrigues and Prideaux, 2018). By
leadership we mean that the person who is motivating the employees to achieve the common
goals of the company. Leaders also identify the potentials of the employees in those areas
where they can perform good. On the other hand, management means to manage and plan
the resources and allocate them so that it can give fruitful results to the company and will
help in achieving the goals. Managing the whole organisation is quite complex for the
manager as the manager has the responsibility in all different areas of the company. Most of
the big companies usually invest much cost on the management and leaders as they know
that these two areas of the organisation will bring success to the company. Unilever was
founded on 2 September, 1929 where its headquarter is situated in London, UK. Unilever
products are across 190 countries with it specialisation in beauty and personal care products,
food and refreshment and home care. The company have developed its brand image over
many countries where around 2.5 million of the users are using their products. In this report
we will cover, theories and models of leadership and management with the effective
leadership skills required in the organisation. In addition to it, this report also covers the
impact of leadership performance in relation to business performance.
