Development manager plays an important role in every big business. They serve as the point of
contact for customer , upper management and customers. They work like project manager and
delegate the task to complete initiative of company(Bones, 2018).The main aim of the report is
to analyse the change that was exist in development manager profession and in manufacturing
industry and find out the factors due to which changes occur. The industry that was select in this
report is manufacturing industry and the profession is development manager in manufacturing
company. The assignment also cover the future trend of manufacturing industry. The skills

The industry that was choosen in this report are manufacturing industry and the
profession was Development manager. Manufacturing industry is the backbone of countries
economy. And development manager is the person who take initiate steps regarding product
manufacturing (Chinn, 2017). The changes that is prevail in this industry are
Globalisation:It is the word that was used to describe the process of interaction and
integration among different companies, people and government, economies, population,
cultures,flow of people, information and technology (Fuller, 2016).Due to trade development and
financial exchanges, globalisation consider as an economic and financial phenomenon. It
includes much wider field that just flowing of capital, goods and service. Globalisation make
impact on decision making process of development managers who are responsible for making
complex interrelated decision.The main element is multiple intelligence development managers
require to address the problems will be solve by taking global decision. The global orientation to
decision ,making is poised as different from dision process use by development manager. Some
of the examples of globalization are:
 Financial globalisation: It can be connected with increase of global financial system
along with international financial as well as monetory exchanges. For instance stock

market are a great example of financially connected global world since if there is decline
in one stock market it makes negative impact on market and also on economy as a whole.

operations.

interaction they must play diplomatic role.
Project management: In business environment each project has targets, cost, budget,
deadlines and team work to complete it. Business Development manager are essentially handle
all responsibilies at different stage level.
Analytical and problem solving skills: Business Development Manager should be able
to identify problem that project may encounter. After analysing the problem with different
perspective the best available solution should be selected. The aim of the managers is find and
grasp new business opportunities for business growth by increasing sales. To solve all problems
they must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

who can easily manage their time properly. By using app, tools, calender they can monitor their

Finance department: Development manager must be responsible for analysing all the
monetary transaction to understand the actual performance of the business and the actual status
of cash that stands in the business so they can easily take investment action, according to profit
and cash to make development in their business.
Marketing department: They must posses deep knowledge of marketing tools so that
development manager can create awareness about their product by applying different strategies
and important initiative can also be easily taken by them to promote product and business with
the help of marketers(Van den Berg, 2016).

profitable manner only if Development manager have good communication skills, technical
