1DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CENTRE Section 1 Executive Summary This paper reflects the role and application of project management knowledge and practices and its positive impact in organizational success and competitive advantages. The project that has been nominated in the paper is development of a new information technology centre in New South Wales, Australia.In order to develop the new Information technology centre the different project knowledge areas n which the assigned project manager needs to focus on are scope management plan, communication management plan, schedule, cost resource and quality management plan. Before initiation of the project associates are required to identify proper resources (both physical and human) in terms of hardware, software and technical experts as well. It is determined that is proper resources and budget is estimated by the project manager before the initiation of the project then it would be able to meet the expected outcomes and primary project objectives as well. In order to resolve these risks the project manager must prepare a risk register considering the impact and possibilities of occurrences of the risks.For this project triple project constraints have been selected in terms of cope, time and budget. The project is assumed to be accomplished within the budget and time of respectively $65 Million and 12 months. If any one of these assumption factor or KM area is missedor evaluated in a wrong manner then the project would fail to meet the primary objectives.
2DEVELOPMENT OF A NEW INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY CENTRE Section 2 Project vision The vision of the project is to develop an Information Technology Data Centre inNew SouthWales,Australiatoincreasetheoverallorganization’soperationalandfunctional efficiency by reducing risks like lack of security, over running time, over allocation of resources and budget. In addition to that, the other vision of the project is to give application flexibility and scalability for the data those have been stored in the server. Project objectives To identify proper IT supporting infrastructure for the development of the data center in terms of network, hardware and software elements To accomplish the project within estimated budget of $65 Million and time of 1 months To hire IT expects and make sure that the IT data centre is giving high level security and confidentiality to the data those have stored in the server Project scope The scope of the project is to set up an IT infrastructure in the identified location to build the centre. For this particular project the risks that may create negative impact are- identification of inadequate resources, lack of availability of skilled IT experts, improper cost and time management etc. The project should be developed followed by proper project development phases. The clients require having an information technology centre to provide flexibility, reliability, security, confidentiality and scalability to both the working project employees and consumers as well. The net budget estimated for the project is $40 Million and the project client

Project deliverables The deliverable of the project is to design and develop the Information Technology data center in New South Wales, Australia within the budget of $65 Million and 12 months considering all security measures. Project phasing, staging and gateway reviews In order to execute this project the project associates should adopt Iterative project development life cycle phases followed by project initiation, planning, design, monitoring and control and project closure.Each of the project development phases are interconnected to each other and the output of one phase act input to the very next phase. The details of the project development phases are elaborated in the below section: Project initiation: In this phase the project scope statement will be prepared and shared among the project team members. As soon as the project scope is developed it become the responsibility of the project assigned project team members to understand the scope and objectives of the project.
