Identify legislation relating to health and safety in a health or social-care
work setting.
Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, is one of the legislations related to health and
safety in health care work setting. It lays down large ranging duties of workers in
health and social care sector. According to this legislation, employers in workplace
protect safety and well-being of their staff members effectively (Alexander and et.al.,
2015). They also protect health of applicants in its premises.
1.2
Explain the main points of health and safety policies and procedures
agreed with the employer
the main points mentioned below-
Assure health, welfare and safety of all individual at work.
Cater essential resources to comply with Health & safety at work act.
Identify any hazard and provide risk measures
According to health policies and safety procedure, employer maintain healthy
and safe working environment or conditions.
They have to give protective equipment.

Analyse the main health and safety responsibilities of:
– self
– the employer or manager
– others in the work setting
In context of self, I am accountable for taking good care of my patients and my selves
as well. I am also responsible for reporting to senior about risks and hazards that I
