Problem statement.
Diabetes is one of the diseases which pose great chronic
problems in the healthcare sectors.
These include many consequences which are
devastating and yet is increasing globally at a higher rate
and needs to be addressed more carefully failure to
which deaths can increase (Powers et al., 2017).

Background.
Diabetes is a disease which is brought about by
a high concentrations of sugar or glucose above
the normal levels in blood.
This is either due to lack of response of body
cells to the insulin being produced in the beta
cells of the pancreas or the pancreas itself may
be producing insufficient amounts of insulin
(Petersmann et al., 2018).

Landscape.
Diabetes is an autoimmune disease which has gone
through progression stages as described by studies for
over several decades ago from stages of appearing of
autoantibodies until hyperglycemia diagnosis as a clinical
disease and insulin dependence.
Improvements have been made in the management of
diabetes with exogenous insulin though many patients
have not met clinical glycemic and diabetes goal posing
this condition to be a serious problem to both children
and adults (Colagiuri et al., 2018).
