REFLECTIVE WRITING: DIEP
Reflective writing can be included in a variety of different assignment tasks. It can include
keeping a reflective journal or learning log with multiple entries particularly for professional
placements – or be part of an essay or report. Reflective writing aims to get you to think about
and understand your learning experiences. This outline is an approach to reflective writing,
using a DIEP strategy.
The DIEP strategy
The four steps in this approach (adapted from Boud, D 1985, Reflection: Turning Experience into Learning) are
to describe, interpret, evaluate and plan.
D – Describe objectively what happened.
Answer the question: ‘What did I do, read, see, hear, etc?’
I – Interpret the events.
Consider why events happened in the way they did. Explain:
what you saw and heard
your new insights
your connections with other learning
your feelings
your hypotheses and/or conclusions
Answer the question: ‘what might this mean?’
E – Evaluate the effectiveness and usefulness of the experience
Make judgements that are clearly connected to observations you have made. Answer the questions:
What is my opinion about this experience?
What is the value of this experience?
Why do I think this?
P – Plan how this information will be useful to you.
Consider: In what ways might this learning experience serve me in my:
course
program
future career
life generally
Answer the question: ‘How will I transfer or apply my new knowledge and insights in the future?’

In your entries, attempt to:
analyse your own performance as a learner
evaluate your gains in understanding and completing tasks
verbalise how you feel about your learning
make connections with other experiences, ideas
demonstrate transfer of learning
integrate the concepts taught in courses (including the literature where relevant)
The following is a writing strategy for reflective journal entries in four paragraphs.
D – Describe objectively what happened
This DIEP Model shows my understanding on the topic managing innovation, I have provided
details of social networks and innovation in the module 4, the model 5 show the influenced of the
selling tactics, later I have done module 6 which provide details of managing power and politics
(Biemans, 2018). All this module is been briefly explained in the DIEP framework. This framework
helped me to understand the importance of the core lesson and how this impact my personal and
professional life. I have did the module 2 which provide details of communication skills and my
capabilities is been identified which help me to become a future leader in various programs at yyyy
corporation Limited. As I learner, I have reflected new insight which have three main component
such as:
Module 4: this module 4 which is on the topic, social network and innovation. I was very interested
in the best performance in networking. This module help me to understand the utilization of the
social capital. Analysis, centrality and boundary spanning in the business organization. What I did
in my learning of module 5 which was on the topic influencing and selling tactics (Garza-Reyes,
et.al., 2017). In this module, I have seen and learn the style of starting or pitching influence in the
business organization, this is mainly a conjunction of the workforce with social network. This
module and its insight comment of critical role of the stakeholders.
Module 6 provide idea about power and politics, this module help to learn the importance of power
napping and deep structure within the business organization. I did understand that many large
scale organization use deep structure power. These large scale organization are Microsoft and
yyyy. Sarah Bankins helps me a lot in the core learning as she introduces me and my skills to the
deep structure and various leaders of the organization this mainly helped me in the terms of power
as graduate.
The power of the graduate, I am graduated and I know various powers in the deep structure of the
organization (Mousavi, Bossink and van Vliet, 2018). Power provide me value in the planning my
career, this learning has push my ability to the limits and developed a leaderships skills. I have
read the Lord& hall's framework which turned to be very beneficial as it ballistically helps me to
develop a leaderships style such as behavioural traits. I know the importance of emotional
intelligence and I try not to become a network centralist by following dominant logic in the
organization. Although my learning during this semester made me to understand the importance of
leaderships style and emotional intelligence to build and develop social network.
I am now confident enough to push back colleague who are trying to be careerist and using me as
the organization's resources.
The power of transformative learning: this may be the last thing I have learned during this semester
but this is the most important one among all the topics as I believe. I have focused on the
principles of transformative learning provided by the Mezirow's this help to develop and leverage
personal experience as the most crucial part in the learning process. I know the principles of
transformative is balanced by the instrumental and communicative style, this mainly help me to
solve the problem and provide direct consultation to develop professionalism .
How I am going to apply my knowledge and insight in the future remains the most important
question (Talukder, 2016). In the terms of short planning of my career I have done and applies
various skills and leadership traits. In my learning process I am clearly aware about the idea which
show that managers and staff need to be together to create better coalition and become a strong
tress together. The stakeholders management is one my favourite which I am waiting to undertake

in my workplace career. I know that my knowledge of power and influence stakeholders working,
the perfection of the reinforcement is very important in completion of career planning. All my
knowledge and the mentorship of Sarah Bankins help me to learn and develop success of my final
semester. She is perfect in her job and I felt comfortable while learning with her. Her mentorship is
full of corporate experience and skills are clearly visible throughout the semester. At last, I have
knowledge as a professional with the help of semester 2 at Newcastle university.
I – Interpret the events
I identify that Boundary Spanning refers to activity where organization influence product and
services with similar category and its good and effective opportunity because it influences people
attraction towards with the organisation goods and services. It influences performance and
structure with great manner (olde Scholtenhuis Hartmann, and Dorée, 2021). I analyse that when
leader generates values and provide information to achieve new target with utilization of similar
resources is positive aspect and I recommanded to other that boundary spanning is effective
concept because it useful for identification and evaluation of utilize existing resources and then
develop multiple things. I evaluate that multiple organisation like which develop technological tools
they also generate similar kind of resources which makes attractiveness and people which
consider buying similar brand of product they can easily purchase.
On the basis of my research I develop this essential strategy in my mind for future because
its useful and powerful aspects. After identification and resources on this activity I analyse and
evaluate that leverage centrality network makes more perfection and it reflects network of
relationship within neighbours which means organization when develop product and launch activity
they generate relation towards with the other product like engage similarities in their product and
maintain relationship (Gilar-Corbi and et.al., 2021). I understand that application of this networks
makes better result basically its graphical approach so which useful for the identification and
evaluation of market behaviour towards with the product and survives. I consider it that
organization when consider engaging new product with similar and existing brand with resources
they have to make sure and develop network that other people like their new products or not.
Calculation and identification of sales tactics is useful and great approach which makes
organization performance effective and better and business can effectively survive in competitive
market. Problem solving tactics in sales activity develop attraction towards with the business and
customer more influence by organization when sales manager perfectly identify with and collecting
tools which makes more perfection. And I clearly identify when sales department perform their
activity with effective manner they can achieve more effectiveness towards with business
competitiveness, and they achieve more success. Application of individual sales tactics solve
customer problems and provide good services to them, next is ask them about which issues they
highly decide by their product and services like product quality, delivery of product, technical
issues, software performance and many more (Ullal amd et.al., 2021).
I evaluate that developing mainly influence by sales performance if they not provide the
best result it impacts on profit generate and expansion of new opportunities so its major essential
term that individual has to develop in their organization services and makes more perfection
towards with it.
It affect performance and consistence of reliability and performance which makes more
attractiveness and influences attractiveness in business product so on the basis of identification of
these activities I have clarity which this analysis that survives in the competitive market people
when consider to uses this activity it makes powerful and impressive activities towards with the
business.
Evaluation and identification of activity it very easy to interpret that deep structure is all
above visual structure which is developed and evaluate by assumption manager distribute work on
the basis of identification of employee performance they not define that they have skills or not. I
analyse that deep structure underlying the structure for new project, I evaluate each and every
aspect related to project effectiveness expansion. Perfection improvement in deep structure
require consideration and identification of proper analysis which makes more perfection.
EQ concert refers to activities which profound and eventuate by proper identification and analyse with people
emotions towards with the business activities, it helps to measure that employee has potential, and they require training
for more effective work activity. Identification and evolution about these term refers to engagement emotional aspect of
