concludes with the outcome for the concerned project.
Discussion
Methodology background
The waterfall web development is the structured and linear approach where any full
specification has been developed with the phases that includes the initiation, conception,
design, analysis, testing, construction, maintenance and implementation that are occurring in
order that was planned earlier (Mahadevan, Kettinger and Meservy 2015). The waterfall is
increasingly effective when the elements of the project are already in the place due to the
predictability. The sequential phases of the waterfall model are:
Requirements: the initial phase includes the understanding of the design, function of
the design and the purpose of the project. The input and output specifications or final product
are marked and studied (Patwardhan et al. 2016).
Designing of system: The specifications of the requirement from the first phase are
extensively studied in the phase and the preparation of the system design is done (Verma,
Bansal and Pandey 2014). The system design helps in the specification of the requirements of
system and the hardware and it also helps in the defining of the complete architecture of the

system. Software code that has to be written in next stage has been created in the next step
(Edeki 2015).
Implementation: With the inputs from the system design, the development of the
system is done initially in the small programs called as units that are integrated in succeeding
stage (Kuhl 2014). Each of the stage has been developed and then it is tested for the
functionality that is referred as the unit testing.
Testing and integration: The units that have been developed in the phase of
implementation have been integrated in the system afterwards the unit testing (Banica et al.
2017). The designing of the software is done and it requires the constant testing of software
for discovering if any flaws or errors that might happen in the near future. The testing is
executed for preventing any kind of problems that might be faced by the client while the
installation of this software is being done (Mahapatra and Goswami 2015).
System deployment: As soon as the non-functional and the functional testing has been
executed, the deployment of the product is done in the environment of the customer or it
might be released in the market (Hameed and Oudah 2014).
Maintenance: This particular step is executed after the installation and it involves the
making of any kind of modifications to that system or any individual component for altering
the attributes or even enhance the performance (Stoica et al. 2016). The modifications might
arise due to the requests for change that are initiated by customer or any kind of defects that
are uncovered while the system is being presently utilised (Çulha and Doğru 2014). The
client is offered with the constant support and maintenance for this developed software.
