Sequence of development means normal sequence to
which children learn different learning and development
skills. Rate of development means the speed in which
children learns and develop the learning skills. The
difference is important as both the concepts are different
in nature.

Children and young people’s development is influenced by
personal factors such as health, disability and status of
family (Hamzah, Suandi, Ismall & Muda 2018). Children

External factors such as family environment, social and

resources.
