Lessons learnt in Juneau for encouraging energy efficiency and its implications for other countries
Added on -2019-09-20
The conservation campaign in Juneau had influenced people’s behaviours towards reducing the use of electricity thus reducing energy. However, the approach may differ in other countries due to differences in climate and lifestyle. For instance, in Muscat, Oman, air conditioners are used extensively due to hot weather, and therefore, measures such as using ceiling fans, blocking direct sunlight, and insulating walls can be implemented to reduce energy consumption. Despite the differences, the energy-saving approach used in Juneau can be applied in all countries.
