Reflection on Research Dissertation

This presentation provides a reflection on the research conducted on the economic condition and growth of the finance and banking sector in Malaysia, with a case study on Malayan Bank. It discusses the challenges faced, resolution to those challenges, skills developed, research interests, and recommendations for further development.

Introduction
The presentation will help in providing the reflection on the
research being conducted on economic condition and growth
of finance and banking sector in Malaysia. Challenges faced in
the research, development of skills. The reflective poster is
based on Gibbs model of reflection which is considered to be
appropriate for the present research conducted on analysis of
economic condition of banking sector (Husebø and et.al.,
2013).
Research Interest
• Conducting literature review for development of new
ideas and theories from the sated matter on secondary
sources
• Development of methodology which will guide in overall
research.
• Correlation of the findings received with the primary
source with that of existing knowledge base.
Research challenges
• Doing literature review was tedious ask as it was difficult
to analyze that which data is relevant for the research.
• Coding in SPSS proved to be time taking for 50 sample.
• Interpreting and analyzing data that was extracted from
SPSS was tedious due to presence of limited statistical
knowledge (Moon, 2013).
Resolution to the research challenges
Combination of data from different source and make sure that the data is
relevant and latest for the research.
Taking guidance from seniors and professors to understand the usage of
SPPS and get training in data analysis aspect as well (Davies, 2012).
Getting help from video content online also proved to be fruitful.
Moreover, assistance from colleagues also helped.

Reflective on self development
The research on the stated topic
was very well able to develop my
skills with respect to analysis and
interpretation. I was also able to
collect knowledge regarding
workings of SPPS and how the
tool can be used in formulating
code of gathered primary data. It
also proved to helpful in
analyzing different aspects of the
research (West and et.al., 2012).
Conclusion
In order to develop my existing skills set, I
require adequate reading material on research
techniques.

comprises of development of
concept and theories, conduction
of primary research, gathering
data, analysis through quantitative
techniques (Lucas and Fleming,
2012).
Skills to be developed further
It is important for me develop skills with respect to SPSS
analysis as I have limited knowledge regarding the same. I
also require to work more upon reliable data collection
through primary sources.
Recommendation
It is important to develop theoretical and practical
knowledge regarding statistical tools for better
implementation.
