AI Summary
The assignment provides an in-depth analysis of asynchronous transfer mode (ATM), a process or switching technology that helps telecommunication networks. It also explores three types of bit rates: constant bit rate (CBR), unspecified bit rate (UBR), and available bit rate (ABR). The document concludes that ABR is the best method for transmitting data when bit-rate and minimum quality of service are top priorities. It provides a detailed explanation of each technology, including their pros and cons, and references various books and journals to support its findings.

Asynchronous Transfer Mode
Asynchronous transfer mode is a process or switching technology which help for
telecommunication network. This technology is useful for asynchronous time-division
multiplexing encode into small unit cells. This technology is converting voice data into packet
form and sharing data from one device to another (Schieber and et.al., 2018). ATM provide data
link layer service that running the operating system physical link. ATM network provide different
services and support the quality of service and requirement of applications.
There are different technologies used Asynchronous transfer mode for transmitting packet from
one device to another (Lan and Tang, 2017).
Constant Bit Rate (CBR)- Constant bit rate is term which useful for telecommunication and
related to quality of services (Zhao and et.al.,2018). It is an encoding method and always kept the
bit rate same and opposed to variable bit rate. It is difficult process for encoding data within
windows media format. The size and bit rate of encoded stream is known as prior
encoding(Keshav, 2018).
Pros:
Streaming media file transfer.
Fixed size used such as 128 or 320 kbps.
Cons: It is performing limited connection.
Unspecified Bit Rate (UBR)- unspecified bit rate is a non -real application which is not required
for maximum bound on transfer delay and cell(Schieber and et.al., 2018). This bit rate is look like
Variable bit rate which used for connection and transport variable in the system. This system
doesn't have reliance on time synchronisation(Schieber and et.al., 2018).
Cons:
The Least priority jobs. It Doesn't promise just tries to transmit packets.
Available Bit Rate (ABR)- Available bit rate provide the best efforts transport services which help
for controlling the entire mechanism of available bandwidth to traffic originator(Schieber and
et.al., 2018). This rate use resource management provide feedback and control the traffic sources.
Pros:
Normal traffic conditions.

Useful for entire framework.
Cons:
Minimum fixed bit rate.
ABR is the best method for transmitting data when bit-rate and provide the minimum quality of
service are top priorities.
Asynchronous transfer mode provide variety of services and support quality of services which
required for applications(Schieber and et.al., 2018). ABR (Available bit rate) is the best
technology and which support the minimum quality of services. This technology is sharing the
priority to UBR and also share link to higher priority. ABR service is useful for managing the
traffic management which allow providing sufficient data traffics(Schieber and et.al., 2018).
ABR traffic management is also known as end to end model because source sending data
form specified rate. It is helpful for controlling windows and transmit limited sources for particular
packets. ABR model is the best bit rate network and it is a continuous process for controlling the
information between network and source(Schieber and et.al., 2018).
ABR is the best platform of utilizing the network resources and increasing the high quality
of services.ABR is useful for loop transmission control mechanism and maintaining the network
traffic effectively and efficiently. Congestion control algorithm and traffic management implement
in the entire network and allows asynchronous transfer mode offering the best quality of facility
and service.

CONCLUSION
As per above report, it concludes that asynchronous transfer mode is the best technology
which help for transmitting signals from one device to another in the form of packet. It also
providing different technologies for maintaining the bit rate.
