INTRODUCTION
Tourism can be defined as the movement of individuals or groups from their home
destinations to another country or place for purposes such as leisure, business, rejuvenation, etc.
The tourism industry refers to the sum total of all those small and large businesses that help in
facilitating the tours and travel operations of a particular place. Sustainability tourist development is
a term that has been incorporated by the UN Environment Program which takes into consideration
various social and environmental impacts while condusting the trade of tourism (Richards, 2018).
All these concepts fall under the umbrealla of tourism environment and industry which will be
explored and understood in the following report.
The destination country that has been chosen in this regard is that of Dubai UAE which is
considered one of the best leading Gulf nations in major industries including the travel and tourism
sector. The tourist industry of Dubai has been selected as it contains attractive places and offers
credible and safe travel experience. The report below will thus define and identify the concepts of
sustainable principles and will duscuss the role of tourism stakeholders. The report will also analyze
several micro and macro environmental factors and will summarize the findings with suitable
recommendations.

MAIN BODY
Sustainable tourism can be defined as the concept that entails all the elements of tourism
experience in alignment with the tenets of sustainability. It is the form of tourism that meets the
needs of all those who are involved in the tourism industry and environment such as host
communities, local residents, and visitors. The concept of sustaainability in the industrial area of
tourism maintains that the commercial activity of travel and tourism will be conducted without
compromising its future ability that will come in handy to the next generations. The dimension of
sustainable tourism has been described by the United Nations World Trade Organization (UNWTO)
as fulfilling these 3 requirements which are – optimal use of natural and human resources, ensuring
socio-cultural heritage, and maintaining long-term goals in a viable economical manner (Amerta
and et.al., 2018). In this regard, the travel industry of Dubai comprises of a public-private based
partnership model known as DST (Dubai Sustainable Tourism) which aims for a clean and green
tourism sector (Yas and et.al., 2020).
As per the Tourism Concern association of 1991, there are some key principles that
collectively make up the entire cohesive structure of sustaianble tourism division. The travel
landscape of Dubai includes most of these given principles keeping in consideration various
sustainable development goals such as industry, innovation and infrastructure (SDG 9), afforadable
and clean energy (SDG 7), etc.
The first sustainable principle of the tourism industry is appropriately using the available
resources be it either physical, human, natural or man-made. Using the resources in an optimal way
not only helps in its conservation for future generations but also promotes a long term success of the
