Executive Summary
Leadership is an imperative facet in the followers as well as leaders life. A team leader could
always dwell upon admires, assists them and facilities them to achieve their allocated work.
Apart from this, the group members could look up to their team leader and encourage from their
assistance towards the accomplishment of the organizational tasks. Moreover, this course has
facilitated me to improve my leadership skills and collect the opinion and views of managers,
seniors and group members towards their skills and activities to improve my leadership skills.
This reflective report entails of my learning by this refection that has not only supported me in
gaining my current leadership skills but also help me in implementing my leadership skills in the
business process.
Introduction to leadership and its importance
A leadership style is an imperative tool for operating any business procedure and get higher
success. The leader could use certain theories with respect to the leadership to get positive
responses. I read that some characteristics of leaders could be acquired by their learning. In
addition, it is also examined that leaders are born but their skills characteristics are acquired by
their experience (Renko, El Tarabishy, Carsrud, & Brännback, 2015). Apart from this, it is
evaluated that leadership capabilities could be increased by different effort and experience.
Through this reflection, my purpose is to share my journey of leadership and my learning
systematically. Through this, I was capable to determine my weakness and strength in a
systematic manner. This evaluation could also be effective for increasing my deeper perception
towards my leadership capabilities (McCleskey, 2014). This report also demonstrates the
outcome of self-analysis. I used feedback method to comprehend my strengths and weaknesses
and improve my leadership skills in a systematic manner. I observed that the leanings from

coursework could be imperative for effectively implementing the leadership in the business and
make suitable leadership journey. I also analyzed that the leader could be accountable for
sustaining the position of the organization in the marketplace. It could be imperative for
obtaining reliable outcome (Antonakis, & Day, 2017). As a team participant, it is our
responsibility to collect suitable tools of communication that will be required to accomplish the
desired goal in the least time and cost. It could entail many sources like taglines, advertisements,
social media posts, and newspaper reports. It is evaluated that such sources could lead to
improving the relationship with the external as well as an internal stakeholder of the firm. I lead
this particular communication team from the last 9 months (Allison & Goethals, 2014).
I analyzed that my journey of leadership was very imperative as it taught me for improving my
professional life in limited time and cost. When I started working as a leader in the organization,
I came with a minimum quality of leadership skills that was complicated for me to manage the
diverse culture of people and make a huge amount of profit. Hence, I enhanced my skills that
support to sustain my position for the long-term. I suffered from many issues but over time the
condition has changed. In the recent era, I worked as a close member group. Furthermore, each
member of the group is self-inspired as it would lead to getting the desired result (Pranesh,
Palanichamy, Saidat, & Peter, 2017). The organization has given the responsibility for six
employees (Sotarauta, 2016). In addition, it is examined that I lead my team member to
effectively converse with others and assist them to perform better at the working place. I made
communication section for making public relation in limited time and reach at the valid
conclusion. I analyzed that this act is managed by the marketing team of the organization. I
analyzed that this activity could be controlled by the marketing team of the firm. I analyzed that
each member of the team has a different view and opinion on the same topic that was

complicated for accomplishing the same goal. The brainstorming method could also be effective
for accomplishing the goal of the organization but the different views of team members could
indirectly impact on the overall obtained outcome. For declining this problem, I started to
perform meeting and consider them in the decision-making procedure (Lloyd, Clegg, & Crouch,
2015).
Current leadership role
In the current era, I worked as an assistant executive in the retail shop. I am directing six people
in the working place and lead them to accomplish desire goal. It was my first experience. In
addition, it is examined that leadership skills could be effective for the accomplishment of the
organizational task and increase the probabilities of getting positive outcome (Drescher,
Korsgaard, Welpe, Picot, & Wigand, 2014).
As a team leader, I practiced the transformational leadership style in the working place. This
method could facilitate the leader to work with their employees and reach at a valid conclusion.
This leadership style could be crucial in nature in which team leader encourage their group
member to make a decision and accomplish their goal (Wolfgramm, Flynn-Coleman, & Conroy,
2015). This type of leadership style could facilitate to make innovation and creativity in the team
and reach at the valid conclusion (Rothaermel, 2015). Moreover, I also observed that it is
complicated for the retailer to deal with diverse cultures of consumers and maintain long term
relationship with them. I also observed that consumers could be helpful. But in some cases, their
behaviour could be challenging for the retailer. Hence, the leader might be capable to conduct
suitable behavior to a different culture of consumers and retain them for long-term. A team
leader may use different methods and tools with their challenging consumers and influence them
towards products and services of the team (Wolfgramm, Flynn-Coleman, & Conroy, 2015). I

observed that we have complicated nature of consumers that arise issues in the team hence I
always tried to effectively direct them by illustration. It is evaluated that this approach could lead
me to make trust among my team members that were effective to accomplish the task or
organization. This leadership skill is new hence I give more time to learn and implement it in the
business process (Breevaart, Bakker, Demerouti, & Derks, 2016). This role has taught me to
have much accountability for my group member and accomplishment of desire goal.
Journey of Leadership
My initial leadership activity was when I selected as a captain of basketball in school. I was
always active in the gamed and especially took a keen interest in the game of basketball.
Moreover, I worked as the team leader in the game of basketball wherein I confronted from
many facets of leadership. As the leader of the team, I tried to do my best to inspire my team and
get a reliable result (Othe bolensky, 2017). There are many tributes that won me in a different
situation and lead to get at the valid conclusion. Moreover, the whole journey was very
overwhelming. I worked hard and assist my team member to get a reliable outcome (Kelly,
2014). I confronted from many issues at the time of leading my team members in a school. It
could be effective for the accomplishment of the desired goal in the least time (Dinh, Lord,
Gardner, Methe user, Liden, & Hu, 2014). Moreover, it is examined that team the reader could
have many responsibilities towards their allocated work that could create an issue for a leader to
lead them in the same direction. Moreover, it is evaluated that I worked on improving the morale
of my group members and assured that each one performed their best capabilities with a calm
attitude. After the completion of school, I got new job opportunity at the retail store wherein I
lead six people of the team and assist them to effectively communicate with others and make
reliable result (Lehmann-Willenbrock, Meinecke, Rowold, & Kauffeld, 2015). I always

appreciate my team member to work as a team to achieve my goal effectively. I tried to make a
unique image of the organization by accomplishing the organizational task. Further, I created a
positive working environment in the e working place as it could be the essential capability of the
leader. Therefore, I tried to make a positive environment that could be inspiring and engaging
employees.
Gallup’s strength finder analysis
Gallup’s strength finder test is an essential tool to improve the deeper perception with respect to
the leadership skills. Hence, I considered this method and reach at the valid conclusion.
In order to gain a deeper insight into my leadership skills, I took the Gallup’s strength finder test
(Cashman, 2017). This method could lead to determine my top strengths and improve my
leadership skills. This test could be effective for a method for evaluating capability to
deliberative. It also signifies that I am calculative and careful. Moreover, it is examined that it is
a complicated task for a leader to control each member and ensure the growth of the team. In
addition, it is examined a leader should also be capable to calculate the risks of the firm (Koryak,
Mole, Lockett, Hayton, C., Ucbasaran, & Hodgkinson, 2015). Hence, I assure that this
capability could support me to determine the suitable path for accomplishing any task in the
upcoming period. The second positive strength on the basis of this measurement tool was being a
successful leader. I always concentrate on my game and improve my skills to lead my team
members and accomplish their specified task in a limited time. As a team leader, I always
motivated to my team member to meet the specified team goal in a systematic way. As a team
leader, I also made SMART goals to accomplish the aim and objectives of the research matter.
As a leader, I was accountable for making the target of my employees and lead them to meet the
aim and objectives. Moreover, the next strength was being an activator. I tried to be an energy

source for my team. I feel motivated to my group member and involved in their activities to
accomplish the task. It supports to boost the morale together with enhancing the dynamics of the
team (Foti, Hansbrough, Epitropaki, & Coyle, 2014). Moreover, the fourth strength on behalf of
this tool is Command. It could influence the overall condition of the organization. It
demonstrates the capability of the leader to accomplish any task. I believed that taking creativity
and accountability is one of the more significant capabilities of an appropriate leader. Further, I
observed that a leader might lead by illustration. This strength supports me to depict my
capability to direct my team member. This test was effective for long-term planning (Khan, &
Adnan, 2014). A leader is an individual that leads to a huge number of consumers and reach at
the valid conclusion. Hence, it is imperative for the leader to effectively lead the firm and make a
reliable decision in the context of the current issue. Hence, it is imperative for the team leader to
make strategic planning and accomplish the desired goal. Further, I tried my best before taking a
final decision with respect to any particular situation. It could be effective for accomplishing the
aim and objectives of the organization. In addition, it is examined that strong trust among group
member (Higgs & Dulewicz, 2016).
Feedback from others
I collected feedback from others to identify my strengths and weaknesses. From the self-
reflection section, I consider the feedback of my senior, father, group members, and my life
partners to meet the aim and objectives of the research matter. In addition, it is examined that
feedback could be imperative to determine my shortcomings and strengths to get a reliable
outcome. Moreover, my life partner always stated that I have appropriate communication skills
(Tyssen, Wald, & Spieth, 2014). My partners possess that I am the higher confident person that
was a positive feedback for me. Though this, I was capable to inspire my group members. My

parents mentioned that I have strong –ability skills and once I make target for myself then there
is no possibility unturned to accomplish it. My team leader suggested me that I always make a
positive environment within the group that creates an honest discussion on the allocated work. In
addition, it is also examined that I also get a few negative feedbacks as well. My father stated
that I might learn the art of saying no to others. It could be effective for accomplishing the
targeted goal in the least time. It is significant that a team leader is capable to take on intended
accountability to the degree that could be fulfilled in a systematic manner (Higgs & Dulewicz,
2016). I would defiantly work on this aspect. In addition, it is examined that my team member
stated that sometimes I confronted from higher stress to meet aim and objectives. It is examined
that I used feedback method and collect opinion and views of others and get a reliable outcome. I
received feedback from all sources to improve my capability as it could be effective to bring in
immense energy to the group member and lead their passion to accomplish their goal in the least
time. There are still lots of things for improvement (Khan & Adnan, 2014). I should also
concentrate on my interpersonal skills to reach a valid conclusion. I also need to enhance my
time management skills to make a balance between professional and personal life.
Implication of reflection
From the course, I obtained many feedbacks that were extremely overpowering. Moreover, I also
gained my understanding towards personality. It leads to make a favorable decision in the
context of the different situation and increase probabilities of getting higher outcome (Foti,
Hansbrough, Epitropaki, & Coyle, 2014). I decided to concentrate on my weakness for
accomplishing my targeted goal and reach at the valid conclusion. Moreover, I also focus on how
I complete the team goal with teamwork. Moreover, I also practiced exceptionally high
objectives as a technique for inspiring my group members. Moreover, it is examined that if this

approach puts group member under hampers and pressure the performance of employee then I
would reject this approach. Moreover, I also decided six months of the time period to improve
my shortcomings and meet my objectives effectively. I also tried to involve my group member in
the team before making the final decision. I would try to be more self-confident and prioritize
my effort in a systematic way. A leader might be capable to control time effectively along with
my accountability to make a favorable decision. From the application of feedback, I learned
many things and improved my skills. It was a highly effective professional. I also gained my
understanding of Maslow’s hierarchy need’s theory that offers many methods to motivate team
members and make a reliable decision. My motivation sources come by self-esteem fulfilling.
Conclusion
From the above interpretation, it can be summarized that appropriate leadership style could lead
leaders to make profitable firm and make a reliable decision. Furthermore, a leader could have
many accountabilities that could be associated with the organizational task. A team leader might
be competent executives, a mentor, friend, guide, and group member. Moreover, the areas of
accountabilities of any leader could be much wider as compared to the executive. Hence, it is
always been imperative for me in be a good or impressive leader.
