This essay is focused on the use of E-cigarette in society. An E-cigarette is actually battery-
operated equipment that releases amounts of vaporized nicotine which is being inhaled by the
user. It offers almost same feeling of tobacco smoke without smoke. This essay is also focused
on two advantages and disadvantages of E-cigarette.
E-cigarette was introduced in the market in 2003 and was introduced in the Chinese market by
Hon LiK by Ruyan Company. After this device become famous in Asia and by offering internet
platform has increased its market reached on the global level (Mirbolouk et al., 2019). Marketers
strategy related to E-cigarette went viral and there has been noticing rapid increase in the use of
E-cigarette. In, 2019, Food and Drug administration of US has actually announced restrictions
linked to the consumption of flavored e-cigarette products. At present various researches have
two different opinions related to use of e-cigarette (Cullen et al., 2019).
One of the major advantages of this device is that it appears to be very helpful for those people
who are not able to quit smoking for a long time. These people are very much addicted to
tobacco and it has become very difficult for their body to quit this substance (Chen, Green, Fryer
& Borzekowski, 2019). Some believe that use of E-cigarette is offering an advantage to society
by lowering down use of tobacco in society. Direct consumption of tobacco is considered more
risky than consuming vaporized tobacco. In fact, even medical care is not able to help them in
quitting smoking. Another major advantage of this device is that E-cigarette appears to be less
risky than tobacco cigarette for people who are suffering from mild cases of asthma. People
suffering from asthma are always at risk of having an asthma attack by smoking and this device
is really helpful for these people in terms of health risk (Queloz & Etter, 2019).
According to various scholars, one of the major disadvantages of this E-cigarette is that this
device contains vaporized nicotine which is composed of toxicants that are not good for health in
long term (Voos et al., 2019). In addition, this device consists of such chemicals that have the
capability of damaging DNA of the user leading to cancer potential. Another major disadvantage
of E-cigarette use is that this device has a major impact on the health of youths. This device is
very famous in youths and therefore long time use increase risk of heavy cough and respiration
problem (Farrell & Hamby, 2019). But at the same time, various evidences have been explored
which focus on serious health issue related to E-cigarette. There were reports which have
mentioned serious illnesses and even death in some cases. Some researchers’ beleive that this
research is very limited and there is no evidence related to negative impact of E-cigarette on
respiration system of the person.
But it has been explored that pro and corns of E- cigarette has been a controversial topic because
various researchers believe that E-cigarette is a better substitute for chain smokers in terms of
health while other believe that E-cigarette increased the risk of chemical exposure to the body
which is already in stress (Gorski, 2019). Although evidence related to disadvantage of E-
cigarette is very limited because most of the experiments are conducted on animals. Therefore, is
