INTRODUCTION
E-Commerce introduce as an effective system for the selling and buying of products or
services applying the internet as the main means of exchange. In addition, it is an abbreviation
for electronic commerce that help an organisation in buying and selling of goods, transmitting of
funds over an electronic network especially the internet. This report will descirbe the website
pfSweety cake which provide the online services to their customers. It is divided into different
types such as business-to-business, business-to-consumer, consumer-to-consumer, consume-to-
business, business-to- administration and consumer-to-administration. Therefore, e-commerce is
essential and significant for each organisation to promote their products over the internet. It will
help an enterprise to gain better results or outputs within given time duration. This report divided
into different parts which includes stages of designing and development of simple shopping cart,
plan and design between web pages, implementation of web pages and post implementation in
order to improve design of the simple shopping cart.
TASK 1
Case Study: Sweety cake company is a specially grade and better quality cake, pastry and
bakery products. (Small Batch Coffee, 2019). It is a brand that underpinned by an organisation's
ability to directly roast, blend and source the finest cake quality for its wholesale and retail
customer base. Company requires expand their business and produce their product over the
internet. In order to increase customer base, sweety cake has been decided to design and develop
a simple shopping cart (Carmona and et.al., 2012). It is a piece of software that plays or acts as
an online store's catalog as well as ordering process also. Mainly, it is the interface between an
organisation's Website and its deeper infrastructure, allowing users to select product, review
what they have chosen, make require changes or additions and buy the merchandise. For
example: some small business merchants, when investing or venturing into the e-commerce, they
will start with hosted e-commerce software.
In order to develop simple shopping cart in organisation, different number of states
should be follow by Sweety cake such as: creating template files, developing database table,
connecting to database table, displaying products, add to cart functionality, displaying cart items
and deleting items from cart (Steps to Create Simple Shopping Cart, 2019). All these are main
stages should be follow by all organisation who decide to develop their business online. This
techniques is essential for both business and customers to save their time and get better outputs.

It assists an organization in efficient management of the clients during peak hours. It makes an e-
commerce website to function accurate and serve a different number of beneficial features such
as inventory tracking, back-end tracking, wish lists and coupons. Such type of technique is also
beneficial for customers in different ways such as: making payments applying a shopping cart is

2016). Developer has planned an effective strategy to find that how it can be improved the speed
and efficiency of business operations and their functions. There are some procedures follows for
website design planning.
Initially, it is required to select an appropriate tool that help to design and code the site.
Designer have knowledge about programming language such as HTML, MySQL and PHP etc.
These are the most common scripting language to perform different task in efficient manner. In
this way, Sweety cake always plan the website design to increase the productivity and
profitability in marketplace.
Secondly, It also calculating the estimation of overall budget of website development.
There are various type of free options available for some time. In this way, they can choose the

one of common language used for e commerce website because it is reliable and easy to use the

performed different task and entire system work in properly. There are different option provided
to the customer by Sweety cake such as Add items. Register, view items and purchase item etc.
On the other hand, Admin can use the other options such as track orders, remove or add items
etc.
